Its less that Im mad about them…I play them too. But thats all y’all talk about. There are hunneds of games out there that are great and not AAA. Just because they dont cost 50 bucks or so and dont have super gorgeous graphics dont mean they just crappy games.
Another guy, sonicabid, likes to talk dat shit on discord about how I play all these indie games and rogue style games and how I only got that 5 dollar shit. I showed him some of my games yesterday. Shut his ass up fast.
Edit - plus you know, I play everything cause I dont pay for most of my games. I get to be picky and choosy because I try them all.
I’m real picky when it comes to games. I’m way done with metroidvanias and Rouge style games for the next decade. If it can’t hold a candle to Dead Cells or Blasphemous it ain’t worth my time.
I also pretty much ignore every single indie with pixel retro graphics on sight. Sick of that style.
Yeah, after that one guy said it was on steam already in Early Access form I checked it out. Its just a demo of the first level. I’d have tried that out but it seems its just one area and you have limited abilities. Didnt look as fun as what was in that xbox video.
We really do talk about a variety of games in here and I feel you just miss out on when and indie game actually starts catching fire. Devolver Digital seems to be a favorite around here and like was mentioned Blasphemous was the lastest game that a bunch of people talk about recently. Hell Dead Cells usually gets talked about at least once a week by someone if it isn’t Million.
I know this. I see and get involved when y’all start talking about said games. But lots of those games have been out for a while. And no one talks much about them cause they already finished them up and have moved on to something else.
Only person I ever really see talk about Dead Cells is Million and he doesnt talk about it much anymore.
Speaking of Dead Cells… It’s been too lonng. Gonna get my Million on and try another Stem Cell run today. I have yet to beat it like that. Shit is rough. You start learning how to beat the entire game in half an hour, then you switch a Stem Cell on and it’s a struggle to get out of the first level alive.
I like it. I been playing it for a few months now. I always seem to get the shaft and dont have enough skrilla to unlock something good before I head off to the dungeon shits. Its like there is always some item that I would really like to start with but I dont have enough money.
on my end i think im gonna try to finish baten kaitos before xenoblade definitive drops. baten kaitos is an old gamecube jrpg that ive been playing i beat the second game a long time ago but never beat the first.
Some times it takes a lot for an indie to catch fire. I played Untitled Honk Game and thought that was fun. Then there’s also Wargroove that I know a lot of people enjoyed. I can’t speak for everyone but it takes a lot for me to consider buying indies especially cause I’m already drowning in backlog. There’s a ton of indie games I want to play and try but if I don’t keep myself in check I’m just throwing money out there with really playing them. I brought guacamelee 1 and 2 months ago and I STILL haven’t touched them yet. I enjoyed my time playing the Messenger and I really enjoyed Katana Zero. Just need something to really catch my eye and force my wallet.
Are you like, the collector type? I get games and I try them, even if I dont intend to finish them right away. I at least check them out for an hour or 2 then set them on the back burner if I dont see myself getting into them. Im also an all digital person. I dont buy any physical games and havent in about 10+ years.

I think it depends on the game but definitely yeah the best examples still look great. Metal Slug for example will probably always be incredible to look at.
Most of the games I own on Switch are indies or are considered indie by a the major studio that made them. I love the switch because it’s basically a mini Steam in your pocket.
