Video Game General 7.0: Day Juan Ys: MoC June 9th & Wonderful 101 June 30th!

She’s also one of the best characters in the game for quite a few reasons.

Love all the attention and lore and fleshing out the Garudo got in BOTW. That whole area is one of my favorite sections of the game despite being a huge desert.

There’s stance switches doe. I’m game for parry and sword deflects.

The whole game could be nothing but the first strike in that .gif and it would probably be the only thing I’d need, haha!

That doesn’t mean anything yet. Of switching stances feels like shit and isn’t well implemented or is ONLY for specific enemy types instead of being different toolsets then it’s going to get annoying.

We also have no idea how easy/hard/skillful those parries are either. Could be brainlessly easy or they could not. Could also be a case of no enemy actually being tough enough to need any of those things.

As I said, I’m still playing it but I’m not holding out for the combat to be amazing. If it is then awesome.

Man…stance switching puts them in direct competition with Nioh.

That’s tough competition.

If it’s as good as Nioh’s is then that’ll be a big plus for it, but I’m not that hopeful

I hate Assassin Creed combat style, and almost any game that copies it. So GoT gets no love from me. Looks like Nioh if Nioh was boring

I’m going in with them getting it ‘right’ at the jump. Haven’t played a Sucker Punch game though, so blind optimism = best optimism, haha.

Nioh was the only game I’ve sold on the PS4, which I didn’t see happening. I thought I was going to go in on that, too.

EDIT: Forgot about DBFZ. Sold that too.

It isn’t an xcopy but it definitely has some aspects of it and I’m hoping that it isn’t as stiff as Ass Creed’s. Stand off mode looks fine but when they were doing combat not in standoff some of the animations didn’t look as smooth as they could be which I’m going to give the benefit that it’s just polish needed to iron that out.

Came in to say…BotW was awesome. I think my love is hunting for shrines. I love to puzzle solve so it fits me. Even more so that many puzzles are not super linear. I dislike open world games as I feel so lost. This game had a general quest to do but it’s neat that I can do it at my pace. I think weapon durability is the only thing that I found meh.

yes the game is barren but all zelda games have a barren monster light overworld. OoT,MM,WW? maybe I’m just used to it from other zelda games?

Some enemies are weaker to certain stances. Stance switch is something in your toolkit. Watching the ‘Jin the Samurai’ sections again.

Man this looks awesome. Glad I only have to wait until July, but even that’s too long.

I did and I heard what they said, but they didn’t actually explain in detail how it works. I’m basing my apprehension specifically on what they said.

Pre-order live… release isn’t til April 2021 though.

Anyone own any of these figmas? $160 for a 6" figure seems like a lot…

They tend to be really high quality with lots of articulation and acceasories.

Yeah I really don’t understand the Ghost of Tsushima love. Reminds me of Days Gone when everyone was sucking that game’s nuts, then it turned out to be as boring as it looked

Dr. Strange couldn’t summon a reality where this happened, lol.

Can only speak for myself when I thought what Days Gone was doing looked interesting but I didn’t think that game was going to be GotY material. Infact some type weird thing happened where the reception for that game was lukewarm and it actually sold really well. From what I remember it sold above expectations.

Forum chatter was coming around to a few months later, I just remember everyone clowning on it. It looks a’ight, but after Uncharted 2, I’m not touching a third person shooter from Sony unless it’s free.

I don’t think many people were THAT excited about it. And even those that were, there was that one demo they showed where it was much closer to final gameplay and visuals and that killed a lot of interest. That game even looks bad on top of not being an amazing game. Tsushima at least still looks good with only 2 months to go. And visuals plus open world are all the vast majority of gamers care about.
