That is actually the last game I want this year next to Ys: Memories of Celceta(which releases May 16th I believe, the title of the thread will be changed to reflect that.)

Ys: Memories of Celceta on PS4
Wonderful Juan OH Juan AKA The Last of the Mohicans Wii U title I wanted but was never able to find(along with Devil’s Third)
I don’t think I’ll be buying Shantae right away. I can’t justify paying a premium+converting to US+shipping on top for the game. I’m also salty ANOTHER group is releasing Streets of Rage 4 physically on top of LRG. Like…just fucking release the game traditionally at that point SEGA, don’t make consumers pay premiums to buy it exclusively off of a website.

The third one. EASY

Asked my wife for a theme suggestion. She said “bread” then “mothers” so we’ll go with those.

Nintendo like Disney with their properties. I could see if they were actually making a profit but damn😂

The best part of the all of these Cease and Desist situations has been the fact that all the mini-consoles ran on roms made by amateurs.

Nintendo sending Snowball after fools? What’s next the Booty Warrior?

Not protecting your IP is a good way to lose control of it. If you don’t legally protect your IP you lose the right to claims of misuse. Even if they make no money you can still lose copy write protection if you dont enforce it in court.

Yeah this concept seems to be lost on most people.

I just wished Nintendo didn’t horde their roms like they do.

They’d have a license to print money if they just put up most of their rom library on the eshop.

Or put it on mobile. Having an officially licensed rom app on my phone would be chef kiss
And I know that everyone here is smarter than me and will tell me why they can’t do that, but let a dude dream, aight?

They would if they could, especially the current leadership which is very much business focused compared to Iwata and the gang. Touch something they can potentially make money on later and they will get in your cushion plus anyone who may have helped.

Sure a man can dream, just remember while you are dreaming that Nintendo doesn’t own the vast majority of their consoles libraries. They can’t just throw Megaman up on the VC and rake in the money. They have to pay Capcom.

This is one of the downsides of a digital future. When you move software to new hardware you need a new license for the software, which you have to pay for, which is why the majority of the VC from the Wii/U isn’t on Switch, at least not yet anyway, if ever.

The rules are different when you own the software physically. It’s not considered a “new unit” when I put my PS1 discs in my PS2/3. It is a new unit when you transfer it digitally.

Unlikely

I knew someone would knock over my sandcastle…
But you’re right. I feel like antiquated Japanese business shit gets in the way a lot, too.

Still… I just wish I could have advanced wars on my phone. That would be dope.

At least I’ve got war groove. It’ll do for now

I also highly doubt Nintendo will ever take a massive dive into Mobile/PC gaming since it just serves to pull people away from their actual business of console sales. Nintendo considers videogames toys, and themselves toy makers. Their goal is to sell toys, which includes consoles. To expand like you are asking would be to work against their main business.

With that said it’s not that tough to have Advanced Wars on your phone.

Kind of makes me wonder who owns the rights to a bunch of dead video game companies from back in the day.

Probably EA…
