Video Game General 7.0: Day Juan Ys: MoC June 9th & Wonderful 101 June 30th!

Killing off Aerith is a terrible idea. Is this a movie or a video game?

For those of us that really enjoy playing the game well past the 30 or so hours needed to complete the game, losing Aerith robs us of a lot of potential fun with the game. Her death is critical to the story and a brilliant choice by the writers, no doubt. In a movie or a book, its essentially THE moment…it makes the story feel so damn real and painful and irreversible.

This a video game tho…

Niggaz aint just playing these games for exposition alone…we playing well past the 99.99 mark cause its fun. And losing abilities and options permanently is un-fun. The idea of playing half the series and countless additional hours without one of the funnest and most unique characters is retarded. In the original it didn’t really matter cause she was trash…but this Aerith is a different story. This Aeirhth is soooo godly. …too much pure fun to lose for the sake of a solid story. Nega, have you ever played “Tonberry in the middle” using 3 shields with Aerith???..maannn that shit is way more fun than the satisfaction of a major character death. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg…she has so many possibilities and toys to play with.

You gonna give me that then take it away!!! Not cool, not fun. In a movie, yes kill her…in a game tho?? Naw bruh we gots to save her and then kill a bunch of other things in as many ways as possible with her.

Simple as this, would you rather have: a dozen or so hours sobbing and rejoicing over the genius of FF story telling versus endless hours of arcane ward, lustrous shield, wizard laser beam, tempest, storm and the ATB thing?!?!

How this is even a choice baffles me as a gamer smh.

There better be a lesbian scene at the end, just so we can be modern and progressive

There is going to be a ton of salt regardless at this point whether she dies or not. People arguing for her to live cause they just wanna see her live and the lore masters are getting their panties bunched up over the mere possibility of her not dying. I’m personally going to put myself in the ‘hope she dies camp’ and not only do I hope she dies I want them to subvert it so god damn hard that it gives everyone a glimmer of hope that she’ll live and then mercilessly rip your heart out.

Yea that’s the camp I am in. Give me a glimmer of hope and then smash it to pieces. We’re missing 4 team mates still so losing her isn’t devastating to the team build possabilites. They really go me with Wedge and Jessie, so hoping Aerith is like that but 10x.

Aerith’s death has always been the lynchpin of FFVII. Hell it’s very creation was centered around “A Final Fantasy where a party member dies permanently partway through”. The story was built around that fact rather than the other way around.

I can see them dragging this all the way to Episode 3.

Fired up Jedi Order. Combat challenges are cool, but unless you want to go through the campaign harder, it’s not truly NG+. All you have got is access to your skins. To me, this title is pretty much dead. I have no desire to play through the it again knowing what Cal is ultimately capable of.

See, up there that dude thelgndwilnvrdy is the reason shit is all fucked up now. In games and life. Soft ass busta ass chumps.

I’ll try that Jedi game out. I forgot it even existed till whoever posted how it got an update. I’ll probably dislike it ultimately but Im sure it will be fun for a bit.

It’s a legitimately solid game. The story is the more compelling part than the gameplay mind you. My frustration is that there is no reason why a true NG+ mode couldn’t have been done. I am aware that certain things unlock based on the progression, but you could easily trigger those items. After you beat it once, you literally will just play it again starting from the base level.

If you want a decent challenge, play on Jedi Master. The other levels are pretty easy. It seems to fall in line with where the story is and the difficulty of the enemies. The one thing I do appreciate is that the enemy hit points stay the same across the all the difficulty levels. The difference is they are just more aggressive and hit harder.

Nigga, you crying about not wanting a character to die because you like her gameplay. The game’s most landmark moment isn’t gonna change over some selfish bullshit. You softer than wet issue.

Which I found hilarious because PS2 (Phantasy Star 2 for you whipper snappers) did this in 1989. There were all these BS rumors people had for how to save Nei. Then they turned around and did the same thing in Phantasy Star4. That series doesn’t get its due. Phantasy Star 1 had a female lead, 3D dungeons, and multiple planets on the 8 bit Master System in 1987.

Not at all, only crying about losing game features. YOU getting panties twisted about lame ass story shit that creators changing with lame ass ghosts. You da soft one homie. I couldn’t care less about story elements once I pass them. Question, when replaying the game you actually watch/read all the story?? You don’t skip that shit?? You really into that shit with a box of tissues and shit lol?

I don’t care about Aerith, just her gameplay…they kill that hoe, but replace/replicate her gameplay somehow then cool.

In a fighting game forum no less, you on this soft shit…you probably hate buffs and love nerfing characters to pointlessness.

ha, check the like/dislike ratio on that Last of Us II “Special Message” vid… this is going to be quite the fiery spectacle when that game comes out  :sunglasses:

Diablo 3— paragon level 311 at this point on seasonal wizard…Greater Rift 61 I think was the most recent one…the trash mobs are no problem but that last rift guardian killed me at least 4 or 5 times… I just had plenty of time to eventually wear it down since I got to it so fast.
