Video Game General 7.0: Day Juan Ys: MoC June 9th & Wonderful 101 June 30th!

Play less story oriented games then. There’s plenty of them.

I’d hardly say it’s the game’s fault you don’t have the patience to tolerate a narrative.

I don’t have the patience for story stuff anymore.

Lmfao

I’ve been this way lately. Not sure when it started, but I just stopped giving a fuck. I tried to beat Last of Us and couldn’t give enough fucks to finish the game. I skipped every cutscene in Nioh 2 and skipped scenes in FF7 Remake cause I just wanted to fight stuff. :joy:

Wait wtf? Why are you even trying to say the remake is worse or something if you don’t care about story at all anymore?

Sounds like a personal problem to me.

For me at least, I have my moods. Story heavy games (the real heavy ones) seems to be slower pace, is sometimes fits when I just want to Chill and relax. Games like FF7R are about medium to low range for Story density depending where I am at in game. There games where I just bring up for 5 to 10 min, like the OG Donkey Kong, and there stuff I know I going to sink an hour or 2 in like a Game of C&C Red Alert 3 in. But not liking any story sounds like you are just limiting yourself.

I know I shit on the original FFVII but at least I played it to form the opinion. I still can’t believe I like the Remake as much as I do. For all the consternation surrounded the story, at least for this chapter, is has not changed very much. The additional time with the characters, Cloud and Tifa in particular, changed my whole outlook on what was ultimately the same tale. This is not a great analogy but it reminds me of how editing can effect how well a film comes off. I’ve seen good editing turn films that were “meh” for me into an enjoyable experience. That is the type of vibe I get from FFVIIR.

I wonder if this is how Capcom came to name those two. The world makes a little bit more sense now.

I’ve been having an absolute BLAST with Bayonetta 2. Just finished my second run through of it and been unlocking weapons and messing with them in training mode as well as playing Tag Climax to get halos and try out the new weapons & characters I’ve unlocked.

The meme is that bayo1 has better combat but the games play differently in terms of that. Bayo1 gives you a ton of meter whereas in 2 you don’t get anywhere near as much so you have to make choices as far as what you use it or, or make a contingency plan and start doing more taunts. The tradeoff is that the weapons in 2 are individually more effective. In 1 the weapons seem to have more specific functions, which is still cool, whereas in 2, you can almost create builds between the hand and foot weapons and accessories. I wish 1 had training and tag climax though. I’m really hyped for Bayo3 though, I really can’t wait to see what they come up with for that.

You lasted more than me lol.
I installed it, played the 1st mission, suffered the 1st cinematic, made my oc suffered the 2nd cinematic, got super bored and made my brother repeat the same process just to see if it was just me.
Uninstalled the game afterwards, lol.

Yeah, it is a personal problem that I’ve written about before. It is EXACTLY about limiting myself.

I understand I have certain gaming needs. I know exactly what I like in a game, what I don’t, what’ll put me off and the outside constraints that I have on my personal time. Because of all those factors, there are a bunch of game design decisions that won’t lead to an enjoyable gaming experience.

Correction, your dumb ass try hard self isn’t shit. If you were all that perceptive you would’ve taken the comments for what they are and understood that after I explained it, it makes perfect sense why I don’t enjoy those games anymore. But that’s outside of the scope of you trying to be all grumpy bumpy.

Cool story bro. :coffee:

The real issue I have with Bayo 2 at least as far as Bayo herself goes is witch weaves are a lot weaker and almost just normal attacks with bigger hitboxes, to make sure Umbran Climax is special. But it just ends up being too strong and making WW weak. I do agree it has a lot of cool weapons though. Takemikazuchi, the hammer, and the chain saw skates are awesome. But those are also the only weapons that actually feel different from the rest. Personally I prefer each weapon to feel like a different tool. If any of them works at any time they start to lose identity.

…almost that time for Streets of Rage 4. Switch version for me, of course. I already want to play as that dude that looks like Jax on big-time steroids.

D3 mini-update— paragon level 233 now. Oh and here’s how worthless gold is in this---- my character has 84 million. Once you upgrade the vendors, there’s not much to spend it on, actually…so it just piles up. I also found 2 goblin “Vaults” which is always a huge bump in your character’s financial situation.
