Video Game General 7.0: Day Juan Ys: MoC June 9th & Wonderful 101 June 30th!

Everyone’s pointed out that he has a jrpg bias, but you got to hand it to him…
Anime grunting is wack, he got that much right

Everybody should have one.

Bless that guy.

So I decided to dust off the ol ps3 to play ninja gaiden and I completely forgot i had a decent sized digital game library. So i go through the list of games I have and noticed i had mvc origins/mvc2 and JoJo Hd…buuut they were only the demos :weary:. Is there any way I can get ahold of these without getting my hands dirty?

Your best bet is either somebody lending you their account for game sharing, buying one that has jojo in the library, or going the piracy route. The game was put off the store a long time ago so you can’t purchase the full game license anymore, same with Marvel 2

Some are good tho:
FF 6, 12, and tactics are pretty :ok_hand:
And i’m struggling to think of any others that I really like…
Octopath is pretty good, I guess

I see…Good thing is I have a handfull of ppl on my friend list who have said games but I haven’t played with or spoke to them in years. I don’t mind jailbreaking my p3 but at the same time i do want to play online. ×Sigh× I’ll figure it out.

Wasn’t Sonic Heroes like the best 3D Sonic game?

No…Sonic Heroes isn’t horrible but it hasn’t aged well and has its own annoyances.

I’m easily confident in Colors and Generations being the top for 3D.

Don’t bother, jojo’s online on ps3 has been dead for years anyway. Just go on fightcade tbh, it has an active playerbase with weekly or bi-weekly tournaments

sheeeeittttt, I was thinking I might be the only person that enjoyed Sonic Heroes. Most of the fans seemed to not like that one…at a certain point I just kinda gave up even speaking about it anymore since no one else was on the same page.

One thing is for sure…in a choice between this and Adventures… I’d pick Sonic Heroes any day of the week over either one of the Adventure bullshits. Heroes also had this great theme

I wouldn’t sweat Pertho, he can say what he wants, at the end of the day he’s the dude who keeps going back to SFV even tho he says he hates it. I’ll take any jrpg over SFV. He can have it.

Oh man… SFV and bad jrpgs give me the same exact feeling, which is this perplexing mixture of boredom and frustration. It’s kinda amazing.
They both kinda feel like working a drive through at a fast food joint. Monotonous, unrewarding, and makes you want to drive you car off a bridge.

Yea but at least I can derive joy from Min Maxing the system and breaking it or something.

SFV just has…SFV matches.

Kind of funny how SF4 got me super back into fighters back when it came out, and SF5 got me super out of fighters.

I wanted to like SF4…but I did not unfortunatly.

I actually like V more then IV but that’s not really saying much.

Dude, this is exactly how it happened for me, too, lol.

Although, recently, I have been playing some SFV. But it’s mostly a means to catch up with a really good friend of mine who lives in another state. We mostly run Boxer vs Chun Li matches (our mains), but I’m actually really considering getting the update package to unlock all the characters. I really want to try out Sagat, Blanka, and Honda.

I’m having some fun with it. Shooting the shit with my buddy while beating the fuck out of each other.

If online in SF5 wasn’t complete garbage I probably would still be playing it. I had fun when playing it but the online was just awful. And that is really my only way to have competition.

But I don’t know I may have gotten bored of it still. Watching SF5 is just so boring too because it’s like there is really only one way to play each character, so everyone looks the same. And there are like 5 people that pretty much every one uses. At least back when I stopped watching/playing.

Yea the game seems way too set play for a Street Fighter game, but I haven’t played it in a couple years so shit may have changed, I dunno.

Mechanically, I should like V more than IV. Stuff like ghetto roman cancels and plinking (and wonky angled hitboxes that were followed specific polygons, hence the ublockable shit) should’ve never been in SF.

On execution though, SFV does a lot of its own shit that’s just as bad. Especially the just as bad as A3 hitboxes, the over-emphasis on frame data over footsies and space control, and the half-baked attempt to do animé/air-dash style neutral/pressure dichotomy, without the options that really make it work in those games.

Honestly, a lot of the shitty things in SFV can be blamed on that point. Hitboxes are stubby because they don’t want people to stay poking at range – they want them to dash in as soon as they’ve won the neutral. Same with slow walkspeeds, need to make people commit to going close and applying pressure, instead of walking in and out of ranges.
