I’d have to play it, but I dont think this is going tk be alternate timelines so much as expanding the mysticism and role of the lifestream in the story.
You get some of it in Cosmo Canyon but it didnt materialize too well. There are also strong hints that there was something up with Aerith but probably all lost in trasnlation.
It is very likely that what people are taking as alternate timelines is just the collection of souls in the lifestream understanding events because of the supernatural element of it.
They already had Avalanche survive. If Aerith doesnt die, throw the whole game in the trash.
Pretty hard to respond to any of this because you haven’t played it and the people who have are speculating at best, you’re basically shooting in the dark.
Aerith’s death is probably FF’s most iconic moment. Whatever they’re doing with FFVII, I’m convinced they’ll keep that.
I knew Noel was going to be a good protagonist when he yelled at Snow in that trailer “you think you’re everyone’s protector, but who do you save really? You realize how useless you are?” man how good that felt back then.
I love her design but agree the games did nothing to make her or most of the characters distinct. That maybe due to development or just a lack planning in terms of what story would be. But I like her and wish she had a better plot, but that has been a problem for most Final Fantasy games since X.
I mean when XIV a MMO is considered to have the best story in years due to expansions that says something about the output.
Tell me about it.
I liked XIII despite its many faults, but Lighting and Hope made it really difficult.
Made worse because they were almost always paired, making their sections a chore, and both keep hating on the only character that i liked from the get go on the cast, lol.
Something like that. In the book, Tidus and Yuna get shipwrecked on an island, and Tidus ends up kicking a mine that looked like a blitzball. He gets blown to bits with Yuna to witness it, and in her grief, she ends up learning from another summoner how much power over life and death she has. She’s able to bring him back, but he has no memory of the event and she’s not allowed to tell him what happened. Plus some other cost not stated directly.
The whole thing was written in a VERY non-direct and surreal manner, even for native speakers. It also laid out the groundwork for the couple’s splitting up as stated in the audio drama that was included in the HD-Remake.
I have the PS4 version so any PC differences you’ll have to look up.
As a game it’s pretty cool. The weapon switching if fast and stylish, the environment destruction is just as fun as the crazy story and the controls are nice and smooth.
If you’re looking for a mech game and the novelty of playing an exclusive Xbox game that never left Japan until last year, you could do a lot worse.
