Video Game General 7.0: Day Juan Ys: MoC June 9th & Wonderful 101 June 30th!

You weren’t expecting the specs the console is packing to be sold for under $500 USD did you? That price was the cheapest I thought it could go for. If it was $600 or more then I could see people being resistant.

I don’t have any plans to buy either system right now at launch anyway unless one of them shows me something that I GOTTA play. I have no issues waiting out a year.

Looks like DCU online has a birds of prey event happening

I’m getting a metric fuck ton of RPGs this year so yea waiting a year will be easy. Cyberpunk 2077 is the end of this year and if its even half as good as Witcher III I’ll be playing it for a year at least.

Remember when the 3DO was released at a price tag of $700 back in 1993? Those were the days…

And yes, I know what happened with that console eventually

Isabella and Doomslayers are friends, they aren’t romantically involved.
Isabella is already engaged to Tom Nook.

The PS3 wasn’t dead or arrival and I don’t think the PS5 will be either. In fact, it will make a pretty penny for resellers.

Where did I say anything about romance? Its body pillow and Tom Nook doesn’t have BFG9000 to remedy the situation. He probably just shrug and bill for the use of her likeness anyway

Yea watching people pay eBay prices for the PS2 and 3 when they released means it will get bought either way.

Looking at both the PS5 and Xbox Series X

A system with a Custom Ryzen 2nd APU, Ram 16GB GDDR6, a 1TB SSD (more or less) and a 4K UHD Blu-ray drive. You can’t buy a PC with similar specs for less than $499-$559. The CPU Alone is almost $400 on the market. And the Cheapest 1TB SSD is like $98.

Here I try to make a similarly spec Gaming PC using the cheapest parts available
No CPU cooler as I am assuming were going with a stock cooler.

Dude I was joking. Hence the laughing face.

Considering I actually got plat and every ending for Witcher 3, I cannot fucking wait for cyberpunk.

I’ll likely be playing that for a year too. :joy:

Yeah lack of software, lukewarm interest in Blu-Ray, a direct competitor that was $200 cheaper, and Sony’s piss poor attitude were bigger issues than the PS3’s MSRP in and of its self.

My bad man.

Yet the PS3 didn’t have a 1 out of 3 chance of bricking it self out of the box ether.
The Xbox 360 did, The Xbox 360 might of outsold the PS3, but it didn’t have a good profit margin as Microsoft had to RNA so many consoles. If another company other than Microsoft had the hardware issues the Xbox 360 did, they would of been hurting.

Your point install is valid, but that’s a hideous price on the cpu you picked. MSRP on release was less than half of that, and I’ve seen them for under $150 at micro center. If one is currently selling at that price, someone is either capitalizing on spike demand, or they were high when they listed it.
Edit: newer generation for $170 (Columbus location): https://www.microcenter.com/product/608328/amd-ryzen-5-3400g-picasso-37ghz-quad-core-am4-boxed-processor-with-wraith-spire-cooler

Well your counterpoint is ignoring fact that I have to try to get to the closest 1 to 1 comparison. Also note the PS5 and Xbox SEX uses custom Gen 2 Ryzen APUs and not the off the shelf variants, thus my price point is the closer to an actual real world analogue.

I also purposely skipped some of the cheaper PSU units as realistically they were junk that would break quickly.

Also

AVAILABLE FOR IN-STORE PICKUP ONLY.

Don’t use In store pick up options for some town in the middle of nowhere when were dealing with Online buying please. Thanks. Not everyone can go to Columbus.

Welp, there goes the only reason to ever even open a Kotaku article. Hope that website goes down after Schreier leaves
