Video Game General 7.0: Day Juan Ys: MoC June 9th & Wonderful 101 June 30th!

Like pay walls?

I love that the Internet has made these two BFFs and both respective owners of the characters have been like “this is awesome. We love this shipping. Plz keep doing it”

Afaik nothing has been said about how many episodes or parts it’s gonna be, but I’d bet SE will get at least 2 more games out of it for a decent trilogy. It being a Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 would be fine, and it being more than 3 games would be milking the hell out of it imo.

Square hasn’t said anything. A few people that have completed seem to think there will be 3 chapters based on how the game plays out.

There is another CDC points offer for the MS Rewards thing… it’s 2000 total again; claim first 1000 by clicking on it, then another 1000 for earning any achievement in any game… sheeeitttt, I’m sitting on quite a nice amount of points now…and those little gift cards worth $1.25 are only 1,600…at the very least this is adding up enough for me to get DLC for something…

haha and those little “rewards” that are only 5 points—I just realized that by “Check out this featured game!”, it literally is just that… checking it out on the store page; you don’t even have to buy whatever it is. I just got an extra 20 points by looking at the store page for Thief, Cuphead, and 2 movies.

edit—another annoying thing that will most likely become the norm in the near future----they will stop even putting “Requires an internet connection” in the description for these games. I just checked Warhammer 40k Inquisitor Martyr again out of curiosity to see if it says that… partly because I have a friend who’s into the game that doesn’t seem to believe me that it REQUIRES the internet to work. Sure enough, these asswipes didn’t bother to explicitly state the requirement anywhere in the description. It does have the phrase “persistent world” in there, which should be an immediate red flag though…maybe they figure that’s enough of an indicator, I guess…just still seems like a shitty thing to not have it clearly stated. There was another Warhammer game like this a few months ago; I forgot the game but it’s not something I would’ve been interested in anyway… unlike Inquisitor; basically it was a guaranteed day 1 purchase for me UNTIL I found out it requires a connection, even if you’re just going to play solo/story…something that is still a ridiculous and unacceptable concept, imo.

(haha, that friend will probably just lie and say he WAS able to play it offline, I’ll bet…if I was to ever press that issue. Knowing how that dude is, it wouldn’t surprise me.)

FF7R:

Summary

Made it to Aerith Church. Games awesome so far. Loving it. The boss fights and combat are great. Bout to pass out so quick thoughts.

Barretts hilarious in this. Some of the shit he says has me rolling and his and Clouds antagonism towards another is fun to watch.

Tifa is hella cute.

Aerith is really sweet and bubbly so far.

Marlene is adorable.

I like the expanded content with Wedge Jessie and Biggs so far.

The weapon upgrade system is dope and Materia is perfect so far.

The characterization all around is soooo much better this time. I think I’ve said before that I never really cared for Aerith just from playing the original, and although I still prefer Tifa, I would say I actually do like Aerith now. And yeah Barret has a lot more flavor too. It’s really just better all the way around in that aspect at least.

Lol Jessie mad thirsty on this particular mission, but it’s endearing.

Yeah Barrett isn’t a walking stereotype anymore.
And the new Tifa and Areith is giving my girl Jessie a run for her money.

Ah and I just realized that because of FF7R and the extended characterization and development we’re about to enter a whole new era of Waifu Wars

Tifa vs Aerith vs Jessie vs Yuffie vs whoever else is featured

Aeris will always be the best. Yes, Aeris.

Imagine picking Aerith over Tifa.

Unless she’s a completely different character.

Ah missed the controller talk response. @Chadouken I see your SNES pad and I submit the following.

“FT10 me in Ergheiz, bitch”

Uh…I don’t think Jessie is going to be much competition in the long run…

Gotta savor it while it lasts

Yuffie is the worst Ninja in the entirety of the Final Fantasy franchise. When it comes to RPGs, I am a completionist. If I ever decide to play FFVII again, I will skip recruiting her. I’d call her trash but then trash would file a defamation lawsuit against me and WIN.

Well with the way they are fleshing characters out… you might end up pulling a 180.

Since i have no frame of reference besides a very few limited FF7 plays of the first disc and TF4 abridged series i wonder if i’m going to get the full feel of this remake. Either way i’m game for it and something new to play.

to be fair tifa is shy she just doesn’t dress like it. meanwhile aerith would prob be down to smash.
