No problem at all.
You are arguing that once you go outside the scope the story it becomes a problem.
A plothole is always contained within the context of the story.
It isnt a plothole because the story wasnt about it, and it isnt needed for the story to work.
The story works the same if is explained or not.
The only thing that changes is that you get the answer to the question.
Maybe there’s a reason for that…? I mean, there’s a multitude, but it’s almost like they’ve spent a decade building up some kind of cinematic universe. Complete with mostly consistent writing and genuine attempts to compromise and course correct for their audience.
Either way, wasn’t the point of my original post. I don’t know why some of ya’ll are so fixated on convincing me it’s a bad movie. That was never the discussion.
Learning some speedrun strats from this guy. It’s fun to watch him play RE games. He fucks up a bunch and still beats it in one hour, no infinite weapons or shop upgrades.
Seems like there’s a new way to wavedash up and down stairs with Jill’s dodge. The way he dodges into cutscenes and set pieces to shave off seconds is impressive. Totally skips the grenade launcher too. Also, I’ll never be this good at dodging Gammas.
The pervy, abusive gym boss right? Yea, I hated him the most. I lowkey felt like he was the worst of all the antagonists simply because children were involved
Personally I’m not sure where I stand on remakes changing a story but, the biggest thing I would say is that a remake doesn’t invalidate the original content. You can still like, appreciate, enjoy, and play the original content just as it was. So it’s hard for me to ever really say a remake should never change the story. It wouldn’t be the first time an adaptation has greatly diverged from the original content. Of course, I AM of the opinion that there aren’t many cases of those divergences going well, but they do exist.
And sometimes they can even create renewed interest in older content.
