my friend came through, dude was going to wal-mart so i asked him to get pick me up RE3.
venetica i picked up a 2 weeks ago pre C-crisis. itās an ARPG and is a pretty niche title, iāve been buying and collecting ps3 games for years and iāve never seen it before until the other day. really hype over that pickup.

Iām about 3 hours or so into it now. I can definitely already tell the game is going to be a little shorter than 2, but I kind of assumed that. Thereās re-used assets from 2, yes, just like the original game did.
Gotta say, Iām not feeling as upset as some others are on this game. For one I appreciate the little attention to detail moments, where the game shows you why certain things in the environment in RE2 are the way they are. Thereās little references and Easter eggs everywhere, too.
Nemesis is not entirely scriptedā¦ Iāve seen two instances so far where heās actually roaming the map and harassing you. Another one where you have to straight up confront him. Though there are a bunch of scripted moments so far, yeah.
The game is definitely more linear and less puzzle heavy than 2, again something I expected. This was a more action oriented RE game even back in the 90ās. So far Iāve enjoyed the ride its taking me on.
I donāt know, maybe the game is so drastically short that Iāll change some of my feelings by the time I finish. Or Iāll run into something that hinders my fun. So far though Iām really enjoying it.
Now, Resident Evil Resistenceā¦
This actually isnāt as tacked on and dumb as I thought it would be. Granted, Iām someone who logs into Dead By Daylight every single day, so Iām pretty likely to try any asymmetric multiplayer game like this. But itās actually a pretty fun game that revels in how silly the premise is.
As the Mastermind, you gotta stop 4 human player survivors from escaping a 3-part map. Each map is littered with cameras, and the mastermind has to switch back and forth between cameras using them to Spawn zombies, traps, and occasionally use their āsuperā which lets you take control of a super zombie for a short period to ravage the survivors. Each different Mastermind has a different super zombie. Annette Birkin has G, Daniel has Tyrant, so on and so forth. They all have their own customizable perks and zombie loadouts as well.
The survivors have to work together to escape, before the timer runs out. Killing zombies, shooting cameras, ect will add time to their timer. Getting slapped by zombies or making other certain mistakes will decrease the timer. Like the Masterminds, each survivor has a class ability and unique skills to turn the tide.
I really like the dynamic theyāve set up. Thereās lots of maps, lots of skins you can apply to your zombies as the mastermind, lots of skills to unlock as both types of players, and both sides have to be at the top of their game to beat a good survivor/mastermind. Itās a really interesting back and forth. The Survivors have to overpower the Mastermind. The Mastermind has to outsmart the Survivors.
I realize most RE fans probably didnāt even download this game, but Iām actually pleasently surprised by it. To be honest, I think this is a decent replacement for mercenaries. If I wanna play Mercenaries, Iāll just go back to 6 anyway.

Technically I view Resistance as the remake/spiritual successor of the Outbreak games, just like the Wii rail shooter Chronicles games were to the Gun survivor. But I get what you mean they shouldnāt remake everything in the seriesā¦
But we are talking Capcom hereā¦

Magfestās theme for next year is going to be Doom, Iām going to attempt to go this time around barring if we can get the C-Virus under control. If theyāre able to get Mick Gordon to come and perform that would be AMAZING.
