Video Game General 7.0: Day Juan Ys: MoC June 9th & Wonderful 101 June 30th!

Lowkey that’s even better

For those weirdos like me who still hadn’t bought DOOM 2016 yet… it’s actually on sale now for $9.99 at least on Live…sale lasts for the next 11 days apparently. I was already going to buy today or this weekend and noticed it just now. I was going to get it last weekend at 20 bucks(!) but procrastinated yet again; good thing

something will have to get the boot though… my hdd only has 60 gigs left at this point and the game happens to be 60 gigs and some change.

Makes the pre-order bonus pointless. Carlos’ costume is even worse since it just changes his hair and he looks nothing like the original design. If you’re getting the PC version it doesn’t really matter because modders have probably all ready fixed the costumes.

With what little I’ve played of RE3 so far I might suggest waiting for a price drop. I’ve only played maybe 2 hours but it doesn’t seem to have the magic that RE2: Remake had. Feels more like Final Fantasy XIII with you running down linear tunnels with scripted events popping off every now and again.

edit modders have the proper face and outfit ready to go. https://www.nexusmods.com/residentevil32020/mods/5

Goodman, if I wasn’t sold by the previous trailers already, this one would do it. And this is only the Midgar section, we’ll done

(Legit forgot about - - - - - - - being part of this section of the game)

So…if you’ve seen enough of ff7r or haven’t played the original and are interested in the game then don’t look at that trailer. Don’t even look at the thumbnail to be honest. I was hoping they wouldn’t touch on what happens in the later part of Midgar but looks like they’re just going to tell everything.

Edit: also looks like they integrated some story bits that don’t happen until after Midgar into this game.

that highway fight, and the run part at 2:57. SE is going all out :open_mouth:

they kept the house enemies lol. I like Aerith’s floating when she performs her move.

Wave Race was such an awesome game. I really wish they would make a new one for Switch.

Hell yeah. I remember geeking out over the water in that game, especially the one for GC.

Also, I made a Animal crossing general thread @MARTIAN @ReggieH

I wish there were any water based racers in general. They disappeared after the Dreamcast. Hydro Thunder on Xbox game is the last one I remember and that was 10 years ago.

The fifth…

Hydro Thunder is fantastic.

Before I got my 2 Rush 2049 SE sitdown cabinets I was looking at getting Hydro Thunder. However, my doorway to my basement was not wide enough to fit it.

But since then, I had to rip my door frame off to get Maximum Force into my basement, and I have since installed a 2" wider door.

So now I am debating getting one (or two) of them, but I don’t really have a good place to put it logistically.

One of the underrated downfalls of the last few generations of the game industry is how the racing genre, particularly looser more fun arcade style racing outside of kart racers has fallen off the cliff.

We shouldn’t have to give kart racing games hover mechanics or mini games in adventure or RPGs to allow for people to have races on water.

Damn…4 hours?

I said it awhile back, RE3 should’ve been DLC for RE2, same engine, prolly alot of reused assets and RE3 didn’t really progress the story much

I’m sure it’s a fine game but making it a separate fully priced game was silly (I’m sure it’ll sell well tho)

I agree. NFS has gone to utter shit too, I used to love that franchise. Forza Horizon was a breath of fresh air too, but of course, Microsoft milked the shit out of that franchise and it got stale very quickly.

I really REALLY wish we had a new Burnout. Those are some of my all time favorite games ever. And no I don’t mean another fucking HD remake like they have already done with Revenge and Paradise, I mean a new god damn game.

And now that I have some Rush arcade cabinets, oh man how do I miss that franchise. I would LOVE to see a new one with all of these different shortcuts and what not.

Hmm even the guy in the review I just posted said it shouldn’t be DLC.

It’s interesting hearing people’s different reactions to the game. I would scoop it up myself and find out but will have to wait till mid month when I get paid again and even still probably won’t play it for a while. Only buying FF7R this pay check and I feel it’s gonna eat a chunk of my time. I also have Nioh 2 to finish which is taking time as I’m doing like 3 different builds like a goofball. I managed to beat DOOM Eternal two night ago to free up a slot in the rotation (do t like Playing more then 2 new games at a time.)

I think NFS 2015 was a pretty alright game and seen more or less positive feedback for Heat. The main problem with Need for Speed is ever since ~2008 it’s like it can’t decide what it wants to do: one year you’re a streetracer, next you’re in a racing festival, then you’re an underground cop, then suddenly you’re a professional driver, then you’re playing out a Hollywood movie with nonstop action sequences and setpieces.

I can’t help but question is if the developers are too ambitious, or if it’s the struggle of pitching a new entry to EA execs, or it’s because of the current state of the racing genre as a whole, or all of the above

It doesn’t help that instead of sticking with one theme the devs just hop onto a completely different setting and sometimes gameplay mechanics, which means they’re not spending time refining one particular formula

The series should either just go full open world (like Horizon), stick it to city racing but with track limits, or go back to the old days with unique circuits and the joy of driving supercars with no tuning whatsoever
