Oh hell nah, fuck that noise. Not paying that much for an old ass game with a new coat of paint, especially if they’re not a package deal. Shit should $39.99 for both modes at best

Why would they announce the Campaign and Multiplayer separately…? Seems dumb. Seems to make the most sense for them to announce both at the same time, and sell them separately or as a discounted bundle if they’re actually separating the two.

I was really confused when I saw that trailer this morning on Facebook. I thought they were adding MW2’s campaign to Modern Warfare 2019 or something.

Good to see you thinking like an Indian homie

Doom TPS mode using data within the game. It’s interesting to see how much the devs had to exaggerate the size of the shots, guns, and hands compared to Doomguy’s character model.

I think it’s a good bundle…

Finished Doom Eternal the other day. What a fucking crazy ass game. Despite the things I find problematic, I’d say I probably enjoy it even more than 2016.

I played on Ultra Violent (second hardest difficulty) and man, it feels like this game is a lot meaner. The double dash allows them to really open up the arenas and have dudes coming at you from every angle possible. The new skills you get for air mobility in general really do add a new layer of depth to the combat.

I think my biggest issue with this game is how much it insists on platforming to pad out time between encounters. I don’t even think the platforming is done badly to be honest, but it’s way too frequent when I never even asked for it in the first place. In combat arenas, it’s fine. It’s cool that you have all these options in the environment to dance around enemies and out maneuver them. Otherwise, there was a bunch of times I felt like time was just being padded out. The large majority of secrets weren’t even cleverly hidden with all these new platforming mechanics.

In fact, it seems like the secrets weren’t placed in very clever spots overall. They were either in your face to the point of being redundant, or I’d search a room up and down and find something that seemed like a secret pathway, only for it to be the actual main path forward. It also seems like the “secret encounters” weren’t very well thought out. They expect you to stop everything you’re doing mid level to do these mini-encounters, but they leave you at low ammo and low health from your previous hundred fights in the level. They don’t even restore you back to your original ammo and health state if the time runs out, you just have to try the encounter again with even LESS resources or load the previous checkpoint.

Other than these few gripes though I thought it was amazing. It’s a visual spectacle, the soundtrack is that signature brand of vicious Mick Gordon is known for, and the combat evolved into something even better than what 2016 offered. Seriously, those Mauraders are the demon equivalent of Doomguy. They’re mean, they demand your attention in a fight, and I love it. The glory kills seem even more brutal somehow, too…

At first I kind of missed that “science lab gone horribly wrong” vibe from the first game, but this takes you through an insane myriad of different settings and I really can’t complain. The more I played, the more I appreciated it’s attempts at humor too. 2016 had a darker vibe overall for sure, but this game almost totally embraces how wild and silly everything is and I love it for that too.

Game is weirdly light on content compared to the first game though… Eternal has a 13 level campaign and the multiplayer Slayer VS Demon mode…

Meanwhile 2016 had the Campaign, multiplayer Versus, AND the player created map system. The multiplayer wasn’t fantastic, but it was definitely more robust and offered more than what Eternal has right now in that regard. Though Eternal does have costumes for Doomguy, weapon skins and secret cheat codes to find. You can just play the entire original DOOM in-game if you find every cheat code, which is pretty rad.

Anyway, overall yeah, it’s pretty damn good. I’ll definitely be coming back to it to try and beat it on Nightmare, collect all the cheat codes, unlock the secret gun, ect. They made another banger with this one. This is why it would be kinda nice to have player created maps again… I already want more.

Because it’s Call of Duty, and Call of Duty prints them money

Well of course it does. But it just seems to make the most financial sense for them to announce and sell both at the same time, as both seperate and bundled packages. Selling both separately at seperate times seems like an easy way to invoke the ire of gamers, and even Activision wouldn’t do something that sketchy…

… Right? Haha…

Yeah but if it is anyone’s fault it is the Duty Bros who let them nickle and dime them to death. If they stopped buying they would stop pulling that crap. The last COD I really had fun with was World at War, that Veteran Campaign was SERIOUS.

Reminder that this is the same company that had a patent to matchmake you with people that actively bought microtransations so you are tempted to spend some as well on lootboxes with cosmetics since your basic ass soldier would look boring in the same group as all those other differently colored uniforms and weapons

This is the same company that fired several hundred employees while claiming record profits in 2019, and god knows what the fates of those people were afterwards (did they get a new job? Did they go broke? Are they still in the videogames industry at all?)

This is the same company that tried creating a new MOBA in 20-fucking-15, years after the genre was conquered by DOTA 2 and LoL, and basically shut down all of its support and eSports program because the game didn’t become a massive success, while announcing said thing via a blogpost, ruining many competitive players’ careers overnight

This is the same company that released “remasters” of Prototype 1 and 2 FOR ALMOST FULL PRICE, and literally all they did was upgrade the resolution. That’s it. In fact those games ran even worse on currentgen somehow than they did on lastgen

This is the same company that promised Crash Team Racing remake wouldn’t have any microtransations, but then patched them in anyway via the Pit Stop feature to let you buy additional skins

Nothing is sacred for Activision-Blizzard

Activision has no intention to remake MW2 MP.

That’s what I figured.

FB Marketplace still paying dividends. $40

This confirms the game was developed along side REmake 2. I’m going to fire up RE2 again real quick to get that new document at the gun shop.

P5R owns my soul now.

Now that Doom is out of the way, I’ll have time to finish up Nioh 2 on NG+…then I can tend to my town in Animal Crossing until the real showstopper gets here…

So fucking ready. It’s been agony staying in the dark about this game. I wish I wouldn’t have even seen what Nemesis looks like until I got to actually play but of course they’re gonna put stuff like that all over the marketing. Pretty much all I’ve seen is him, Jill, Carlos, and Hunters. I haven’t even downloaded the demo.

I kid you not, Nioh 2 has THE BEST looking black CACs I’ve ever seen. There aren’t a ton of hair options but there are some. The actual faces can look really fucking good though
