All the rumors pointed to it being Namco Bandai working on it but IIRC it was never 100% confirmed. Regardless Ninty said they were not ok with the quality of what they had so they scrapped it then handed the project to Retro.
The update video was uploaded 1/25/2019 so it has been a little bit over a year since development got restarted. If he also take into acct that Retro was supposedly working on another project at the time then its going to be quite some time before we see this game release. Iâd be surprised if we got a cg teaser this yearâŚmaybe next year depending on how well development goes. Personally Iâm expecting a 4 year dev cycle on this game at the minimum at this point. We might not see the release of this game till near the end of Switchâs life cycle.
Sorta same here as well. I started on PS2 but only played the first one, and never finished it, moving to a different state and life in general after that.
Jumped in on the PS4 when I grabbed one a couple years back. I think weâre lucky getting into it late, since we donât have SEGAâs 7th generation restructering and scheduling about whether or not they will release something outside of Japan.
So glad they gave it another chance and itâs paying off for them.
You really didnât get even 10 minutes in the game. ShameâŚcombat and story opens up the further you go in of course. I donât get why they chose to make it so you had be stationary to attack in xc2 which made getting in position to maximize damge on attacks annoying. What was it that made it boring for you?
I just ran up to a thing and the dude just started hacking away like it was a budget mmo.
Iirc, the first monster you fight with Shulk (and the tutorial to his Back Slash) is pretty much: stick close to monster for a couple seconds. Occasionally do back slash, but not often enough to draw aggro. Grab loot.
No. Absolutely not. RPGs absolutely need combat to be fun and not repetitive so the game is actually fun enough to compensate the inherently boring rpg grinding and stuff like that.
(Not saying all RPGs are just boring grinding and fetch quests, but all of them have some of that.)
Itâs funny because some time later I realized that maybe I was too harsh. Maybe the game just had a slow start.
Then I watched some E3 footage of 2.
And the combat was really that shit.
Edit: Is it me or has Sonic been typing for over 10 minutes?
Auto attack is just a sort of between of action and traditional jrpg. Its not as deep as arpg but you donât have to continuesly tell your character to attack either and you can focus on position and strategy. Of course the first few fights are going to be boring to get used to the combat. If you are gonna fight the tougher enemies or even attempt to fight enemies that triggers this then you need to be focusing on position, trying to topple the enemy if possible, and trying to manage your team meter since you can use or for team attacks or reviving people. Then you add to Shulkâs ability that you get later on in the game thatâs pretty much âif you donât fix this situation quick then someone is getting fuckedâ cause any time that shows up you gotta focus on preventing it from happening. Iâd ask you to give it another shot and actually get further but I know dropping 60 on an experience that you barely got a bad taste of is a tough ask.
itâs prob just not for you and thatâs okay man. personally my favorite combat in rpgs are classic turn based battle systems.
i actually just finished the geofront patch of trails from zero. im trying to decide if i should use the flame edit patch of azure or the original translation that has full voice over either way im getting a snes tier translation with that game.
the real problem with xenoblade 1âs combat is you have to control melia if you want her in your party cause the a.i. sucks. also the game better keep the part where you can power level by putting those big ass gorillas to sleep and pushing them off that cliff.
Speaking of Shovel Knight I had no idea that was actually a Kickstarter project until recently. I purchased it a long time ago and it just sat there on my system, occasionally installing updates, adding completely new content. Was wondering at first âwait do I have to buy any DLC for this thing?â, turns out it was all planned free content. Kinda crazy just how much Yacht Club added
End of Switchâs life cycle would be roughly 2025, I donât think itâll take that long to develop Metroid Prime 4. Nintendo may also extend the consoleâs life just a bit by making a Pro version in the near future. Yes, I know they said they arenât doing another revision (this year), but iirc they were saying the same about Switch Lite despite the constantly circulating rumors, only to reveal the console literally a few months after saying ânah donât believe the hearsayâ.
They really just need to extend the internal storage (because letâs be honest 32GB in 2020 is a joke, especially given the evergrowing game install sizes) and put an SoC that isnât already outdated by the launch date like Switchâs Tegra was in 2017
My only concern is that if Nintendo still try to keep the costs down with a Pro model, they may not put the Xavier platform chip inside and instead just upgrade it to Tegra X2. But Xavier would be a massive upgrade compared to whatâs currently inside even the Lite
