Video Game General 6.5: Now with more surprise mechanics

Never heard of it. Interesting they are making a new game. Sounds exciting and those two screen shots look promising, visually at least.

Very tough to say. The problem is that Need For Speed literally kept changing its theme pretty much every year after Undercover, and it’s like the series still can’t find its identity in the current landscape of racing games. Traditional arcade racers are pretty much dead, so you’d think it would be nice to get another title like Hot Pursuit (2010) or, hell, go back to the NFS1-4 formula of original circuits mixed with the good feeling of driving world’s fastest cars and the thrill of being chased by the cops.

But no, can’t have that. One year it’s underground street racing, next it’s a festival, then we’re back to street racing, now suddenly it’s a hollywood movie, then cops vs racers, then street racing again, and so on and so forth. This may be an unpopular opinion but I think the move to a true open world with activities and shit in it was for the worse, especially when there is already a superior open world racing game in the form of Forza Horizon.

I guess we’ll see what happens when the Ghost employees settle in, most likely the team is already creating concepts for a nextgen NFS title. Hopefully it won’t be another disaster like Most Wanted (2012) aka Burnout Paradise 2. If I wanted a Burnout game I’d play Burnout.

It would be great news if the people who made burnout and the nfs games were still at criterion.

Current criterion lost all the talent as they left the company after ea forced the studio to be a backup one for others like dice.

I dont really have faith that nfs will be good again.

Neither that a new burnout will be anything but a disaster.

sheeeittttt, Bioshock was an absolute masterpiece of the 360/ps3 era. I loved everything about that game, and I still listen to parts of the soundtrack regularly. I also skipped part 2 though, and played Bioshock Infinite; I enjoyed that one was well.

ha, this reminds me that after all these years… one of my friends STILL never beat the first one. He was actually enjoying the game, and was nearly at the end when you’re going to confront Andrew Ryan in his office. Yeah, for some strange reason he stopped playing at THAT critical point in the story…got sidetracked by other games and never came back to it. Really, that dude ultimately wastes money on games, imo. It’s a waste of your time and money if you never bother finishing a story-focused game like that. It’s just bizarre…like imagine someone that’s enjoying a movie, and despite actually liking it…they leave the theater at some point before the final resolution or big revelation in the story happens…and they haven’t just gone off to the bathroom…they actually left and went home. hahaha that’s fuckin strange, man

Dead Cells---- so I tried one of the new DLC areas, but mistakenly tried it on 4-cell! (4-cell difficulty is INSANE, man… I think this is where normal enemies start teleporting to you like elites…AND they infect you with malaise on hits!) So of course I hit that tragic situation of unlocking 3 or 4 new weapons/items… only to die before clearing the area, thus losing those shiny new unlocked things :pensive:

Ehh base SFV goes on sale for a whopping 10 bucks all of the time on Steam and PSN so I’m not too surprised it hit those numbers over time. They basically give the base game away at that pricepoint, and they should because of its weird wannabe F2P FIGHT MONEY system.

Terrible, BioShock 2 is an amazing game. You return to Rapture but it’s falling apart. There are leaks everywhere, sometimes fish even make it inside and are flopping about, the splicers are more jacked up than ever, there’s seaweed and all of this other stuff growing everywhere because of the seawater flooding into Rapture…

You can see some leaks and some of the funky things growing on the ground in this picture. The game was the first to add dual-wielding plasmids+a weapon, and some of the Plasmids are unique to the title. The game is so good I platinum’d it on PS3 AND PS4.

Bioshock (first one) and Bioshock Infinite are worth playing
Bioshock 2 is only good if you really enjoy the original.

All are FPS with RPG Elements

I am pretty sure than Mr Wiz hates Fighters in general .

Funny how Apple is left out here

He loves Samsho.
It is one of the reasons why it made into the roster its 1st year

I don’t get how that tweet indicates that MrWiz hates mvc2? I thought it was just the DC he hated? Also correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t the trashing of the DCs when marvel 2 got re-released for Ps3/360?

They are way to obvious.

Co-op BP would actually make me buy the game if I owned a switch.

I still think that’s the biggest thing DMCV needs.
