added another game to the Switch backlog pile … the Sega Ages port of Phantasy Star I. I didn’t play this game as a child, as I owned a SNES. Neighbors that I lived across the street from at the time had a Genesis and played MK2 on the standard 3-button pads.
Dead Cells—sheeitttttttt, went back to regular ol’ Hard mode to beat the Giant’s ass, getting some sweet vengeance there. I had another brutality build going… 22 points and had a shield this time. This was only my 2nd time ever defeating him, since I normally play on Very Hard, where he has 999 octillion-quadrillion health and is borderline impossible (so I also make sure to avoid the Graveyard route). I didn’t realize until now that after Giant, you can either go to High Peak Castle or straight to Throne Room.
And it was interesting (as far as that video is concerned) to see all he did wrong from another perspective (though that seems to be speculation). I know I was damn sure taking the radio silence after release as them taking the money and running. That they might legit be fixing their game never even occurred to me.
Yes. The first game they did it with was Days Gone I believe. They don’t do it for every major release. They’ve only done it for a handful of the games. The only games I can think of that they’ve done this promotion for are Days Gone, Death Stranding, Pokemon Sw/Sh and now DBZ Kakarot.
I could be wrong though as I don’t shop at GameStop anymore. I can count how many times I’ve shopped at a GameStop since I quit working there almost 4 years ago.
