BO is easily my favorite racing series of all time.
As for Midnight Club, i only played MC LA, loved it, but i think that there could be some improvements on the gameplay, since the cars handled a little floaty for my taste, which is why i mostly raced using bikes, lol.
Same.
Of all the games, the most i loved aare the 1st 3, and the criterion ones.
Of all the tuner era, i only enjoyed Most Wanted and Carbon.
The others while i owned them and played them, they never managed to catch my attention as the others above or the BO series.
I think I just like arcadey racers, which is why I wasn’t into Fortza, Gran Turismo and NFS. Simulation racers don’t do it for me, not saying they’re bad games cuz they aren’t, just not my deal
Not all NFS are sims though. But how arcade-y they are varies from game to game and era to era.
And yes, it is the same for me.
I prefer arcade games over sims.
And speaking of racing games, one game i loved its concept, despite its execution being kinda flawed was Split Seconds, the idea of using the enviroment to wreck havock while racing is something i would love for someone to revisit.
Yeah I have the game on Steam. I can’t see a remaster looking any better. Only way I could see myself triple dipping is if a Switch version is released.
I’ll probably get it for ps4 cuz I haven’t played it in a few years and would be cool to have it in a higher res and maybe if it does well enough they do a sequel…maybe…uhg.
quite a shame you didn’t get into the Soul Sacrifice multiplayer then… it was surprisingly smooth for what I was expecting out of a portable online multiplayer experience…it was cool to go fight tons of the large monsters with a squad of other people…all magic-dashing around and throwing so many cool spells.
This reminds me of how unfortunate it was for that franchise to be shackled to such a tragically unpopular system. Soul Sacrifice & Delta deserves the remake/remastered treatment for sure…of course I’d prefer it on Switch but I think thta’s Sony’s----ah yep…quick internet research says… “developed by Marvelous AQL, with assistance from SCE Japan Studio, and published by Sony Computer Entertainment”
I could go on and on with a novel-sized post about how much this game fascinated me so I’ll cut it short for a change here…goddamn that game was legendary to me. It’s forever cemented in a high spot on my “greatest games of all time” list, easily.
oh yeah and the trailer for the DLC is a classic, imo…check this greatness out:
ohhhhh and it was such an epic battle against “Odin” the first time I ran into him… sheiiittttttttt, man
that line was also from another amazing point in the story, btw… I’ll never forget that moment when your character and their companion run into some otherworldly thing that is truly terrifying-- “… there are no words for what appeared before us then…”
If Vanquiah gets a physical release I will day juan. If not…I’ll stick with the ps3 and steam release.
@Hecatom Its pretty awesome. One level has you driving through buildings as they collapse and another has a goddamn tornado wrecking havoc in the middle of the track.
I’d post some awesome gifs but mobile doesn’t let me for some reason.
@Million-X I got pretty far in vanilla SS and I bought Delta when it went on sale. I’m 99% sure it was cheaper to buy Delta on sale than to buy the online pass for the original, haha.
I was actually playing Delta recently, I got through Carnatuxs’ storyline. They made him seem like such a greedy bastard at first, but in the end he turned out not to be.
I really dig the storylines in this game. I didn’t think still images with a funky VA could get me so invested.
Sonys studio helping development most likely helped it be as good as it was. They helped with Demons Souls and Bloodborne too IIRC. Oh yeah, Marvelous AQL made the Valhalla Knights 3 game I was playing the other day.
I was in a Gamestop yesterday… I’m not sure what the hell they’re thinking with these prices… they had joycons for 79.99… why have that be more expensive than other places? If I recall, those are 69.99 everywhere else. This is on top of their price on certain games being beat by Walmart as well— like Daemon X Machina and Marvel UA 3 are 59.99 there… meanwhile at Walmart and I think Target—those are 49.99 and have been from day 1. Surely this isn’t a smart move for a business that seems like they are in their last days of relevance; they are on the way out.
(edit—yep; I just checked and Daemon x Machina is 50 bucks at Target and Amazon too. Best Buy also has it foolishly listed as 60 though; just seems silly imo to allow your competition to beat you so easily on price…especially when you’re not in a good spot as of late.)
