Going to play some Sony Diablo tonight aka Champions of Norrath. I’ve heard of people liking these games more than Diablo 2.

ohoooo that brings back memories… my old college roommate and his wife were into Champions of Norrath; so that was my regular “crew” to play with on it; it was such a long time ago, I don’t even remember what character I was playing…we later spent much more time with Phantasy Star Online.
oh yeah—another example of the impending disaster that is “online only”— I’m sure your average Marvel fan will remember “Marvel Heroes”. Anyone wants to play that today? haha, TOUGH TITTY…that shit is gone forever now. If I recall—the story was that Disney/Marvel pulled funding, (because for some odd reason that’s Disney’s thing…to just quit on game-related stuff; they shut down the Infinity franchise as well, and I thought that was doing ok…?) so the company actually running the game had no real choice but to shut the servers down then.
Meanwhile; I see various recent and older games here in my place… all kinds of stuff like Operation C and TMNT: Fall of the Foot Clan for Gameboy, Phantasy Star Universe, Bayonetta, Prototype, or really old stuff like the 8-bit Ninja Gaiden II, Megaman 3, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Actraiser, various Dreamcast games, etc…sheeeeitttt, I actually still have a bag of Atari 2600 games… as long as the original hardware still functions— I can play any of this stuff right now if I want. We will not be able to say the same thing for many of the games in the new era, once they become “retro” in the future…and that’s the sad thing.
Tekken 7 doesn’t even have a graphics patch for the One X. AND that version doesn’t have the jukebox. Shit is whack.
They are making the exact mistakes that capcom did with sfv.
And unlike sf, gg is not a well known franchise to survive this.

Sounds like they’re alienating the niche audience that plays GG with these design choices.
There was a interview a while back where one of the designers was saying rollback netcode is better for sf, but for a game like GG they want input delayed based netcode. Like what man. Shit like this is why netcode for Japanese fighters is almost always fucking terrible. Whatever netcode Tekken 7 is using is probably the same input delay based netcode in dbfz and Smash Fros.
I hear Killer Instinct has amazing rollback netcode and that it is some of the best to date. Marvel Infinite and its netcode is a 100000x better than SFVs and is some of the best rollback based netcode Capcom has had in their game. If they refine it and use it in their next gen fighters it could be amazing.
GGPO is free now too, but the GG devs want to go with input delay based netcode. Gg, GG.
I think the jukebox is exclusive to the PS4 version.

I’ve heard this urban legend that Japanese are reluctant to adopt things that did not originate in their own country, and since rollback netcode was not conceived in Japan, it is not a popular choice among Eastern developers.

realistically strive would have to be total garbage as in not be able to retain any kind of base for xrd to keep going its like when nintendo said the ds wasn’t replacing the gameboy.
that’s not a knock against strive. im personally willing to let it be it’s own thing and see how the dice falls i wasn’t to hot on xrd coming off accent core and i still don’t like it as much but it became it’s on beast over time.

I bought Wolcen. The gameplay trailer looked great, and an actual combo system in an Arpg making it feel more like a DMC or Ninja Gaiden sounds too good to be true.
THREE YEARS of early access, with the actual full release in January as well as console versions.
I hope it actually releases next month. If it does it means I saved myself like thirty bucks since these games always get more expensive when they leave early access. If it doesn’t come out next month maybe it’ll be ready in another three years. 
Only a very tiny taste of my Black Friday haul. I’m really glad I resisted temptation and waited until Black Friday to get it. $25usd off (really $30usd off after employee discount) is something worth waiting for.
You guys familiar with Tencent? They’re a Chinese company.
They own 50% of Epic Games. So, everytime you buy a game using Unreal Engine 4(SFV, Tekken 7, a shitload of other games) they’re getting a cut. Everytime little Jimmy gets his father to buy some MTX in Fortnite they get a cut.
Tencent bought out Path of Exile last year. they own 80% of the shares. Reddit was in tears when this happened, they went from supporting an indie dev to a Chinese corporation that also owns League of Legends. I thought servers would get better but nope. Instead forums and in game chat became more strict and you could get muted/temp banned for next to nothing.
People are supporting The Chinese Connection without realizing it. Crazy how many corporations and now gaming companies Chinatown has by the balls.
That’s a sexy looking controller, man. I want one.

I like the new titanium blue pad a lot. I tried but I cant link it via mobile. 
The gold, silver, red and anniversary edition pads all look great. I get n64 and gamecube era vibes from all of the different coloured controllers we get these days.
I wish there were more consoles with funky colors though, at least have matching console colours for most if not all of the pads.
Personally I want a bright banana yellow pad with a matching console. She looks very pretty in my mind, almost gold PS4 tier(I’d commit crimes for a gold Ni No Kuni PS3 & gold taco bell PS4.)
Got Hollow Knight on Switch…yup I can see why it’s been compared to Super Metroid, it’s really the pinnacle of what 2D gaming can be, it’s one of those rare examples of visionary auteurs with a product not affected by budget, politics, business, internal conflict, or anything that would stop them from polishing their ideas into reality. It’s simply one of the best games I’ve ever played and worth all the praise it’s gotten.
Also picked up Galak-Z on Switch which comes with the DLC free, was sad this got canceled for Vita, but now I finally get to play it and it’s pretty fucking awesome, I love how unforgiving it is. They captured the feeling of a space dog fight perfectly with the control scheme alone.
No.5 on that list…uh oh…
