its his show and he chooses who got to vote.
which are all gaming journalists from gaming mags and websites like ign gamespot etc etc. and we all know game journalists who work on those shitty gaming sites are all bought off regarding reviews by the publishers who advertise on the same gaming websites.
he should know better than to use those people of all people to cast votes.
for example. death stranding has a awful 5.8 score by users.
goty? nominated 9 times? really Geoff? really?!?
Itās same people that have been voting on the awards. Now if he removed people and replaced them for the sake of Death Stranding, then this narrative would have merit. As it is, itās just a conspiracy theory that doesnāt hold up when you look into the situation. I say this as someone that has no interest in Death Stranding and find Kojima to be highly overrated.
If thatās not the most ādamning yourself with faint praiseā shit I ever sawā¦
WTF, man? How did Stadia even happen? Who was pushing for this shit? Who wanted this shit?
Need a new Onimusha. Imagine a new Onimusha with the engine/production value of REmake 2 and DMCV. It has the potential to smoke every Samurai-esque game on the market not called Nioh.
Imagine a new Street Fighter game, possibly a cross-over or Alpha title that they actually put time and money into. Mahvel Infinite and SFV had the budget of a box of crackers and a jar of peanut butter compared to REmake 2 and DMCV by comparison.
@Sonicabid Onimusha is the one of few Capcom franchises Iāve never played. When it came out that style of game just wasnāt my bag. The only game genres I paid attention to or played during that time were fighters and JRPGās.
So a new one or an HD collection of the core games would be cool.
I need some Dino crisis and viewtiful joe back in my life tho.
I want a new Onimusha game with Samanosuke time traveling. Definitely do not want exclusively feudal Japan setting. No anime (like half-oni bullshit) or ugly (like Jubei) protagonists either.
Still prefer the aesthetics of Onimusha 3: Demon Siege over any other action game. It has the gore necessary to make the demons threatening.
@ZZZZzzzzzzzzz The game was review bombed to be fair.
āOh for Godās sake, this again? For some reason, quite a few people on the internet have decided that Hideo Kojimaās a hack and that he deserves some hate.ā
It was probably review bombed by some people in here based on that quote.
I picked up a copy for cheap recently and ran through the game in 4 hours(goddamn.) The game is on the shorter side, but the level design is oldschool RE/Metroidvania esque in that doing something on one part of the castle might open up something somewhere else, or youāll get a key for a certain area, etc. etc. I remembered a lot about the game and where to go and what to do when, so because of that I was able to clear it really quickly.
Itās not like DMC and Bayo in that you can juggle and combos enemies forever, itās a lot more grounded. Your moves are very basic, you can block and sidestep and itās all you need. The game has tank controls if you use the D-pad on PS4(which is how the games were back on PS2. You could do a 180 with your character with down X just like older RE games) but if you use the analog sticks you get true 3D movement ALA the Resident Evil REmake re-release. It definitely makes things easier.
^ This guy asks you to go to a secret level if you can find him.
^ The narrator says āthis man will eventually rule the world as _____ā and 3 games later, with Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams heās the main villain.
I found the upside down mystic early in the game and he refused to talk to me! Also not a fan of Metroidvania design as I like to move forward and not run in circles. I want my time playing the original Onimusha back.
Also, I am pretty sure the 180 degree turn was added in either RE3 or Code Veronica, but canāt remember which.
I think Warlords is available on the switch. I may pick it up on that.
Onimusha did RE/Metroidvania esque level design really well. Areas youād have to re-visit would have different enemies/enemy placement as well as changes to the terrain itself.
I think it was an RE2 re-release(DualShock Edition) or RE3 that added the 180 turn IIRC.
ā¦Who cares what the main male character looks like, man?
Ohh yeah, I forgot about one of the coolest mechanics. Perfect Issen.
If you attack right before an enemy is about to hit you, youāll instantly kill them in 1 hit. You will see a white flash on top of a sick sound effect if you do it correctly, and on top of this, enemies will drop more resources.
^ Onimusha 3 gif, couldnāt find one of the original outside of a picture. Also dat Terminator head in the background
I laughed when I started to pull it off on some of the lower tier enemies. Itās super satisfying, even almost 20 years later.
The original Resident Evil did it better and kept the feeling of progression. For an action game it felt restrictive.
I canāt suffer that sourpuss mug again for another gameā¦
Also, I pulled off so many Perfect Issens on offscreen enemies by accident that it is not even funny.
User reviews have been proven to be pretty unreliable over years if there is even a WHIFF of controversy. Bringing them up to prove anything is pointless.
And review sites havenāt been?
Well I was going to point out how his post actually doesnāt help his argument. Critics select the games for the game awards and the critical average for Death Stranding is a good. If the critical score was poor and it still was getting all these nominations it would back up what he is saying.
I never said they were. But if Iām gonna be honest when it comes to DS and games like Pokemon S & S, Iād rather take the snapshot of metacritic score over the user score for a better idea of what the game is because when gamers get a bug up their ass about something they immediately go into full blown subjective mode and start becoming completely irrational. Game is missing half pokemonā¦clearly the game deserves a 3 and below for that right?
Yea aside from a few level headed youtubers whose opinions align with mine generally, and a few SRKers around here, i dont trust gamers for fucking shit anymore. Somewhere along the line we became full blown drama queens. Shits wack as fuck if you ask me.
I heard Onimusha 2 and 3 have not been re-released due to licensing issues for the likeness of some of the characters in those games (i.e. Jean Reno in Onimusha 3). Dunno how much merit that argument has, but could explain why.
Stadia can overheat your Chromecast
Canāt say Iām surprised
