SF4 was a game that I liked less and less the more I learned about it and the more I played it. I played it pretty seriously for about 3 years and wish I’d moved on earlier.
Agreed. My bro and I beat all 3 FF games and then played some SoR and imo none of the subsequent FF games nor any of the SoR games, good as they can be, hold a candle to Final Fight 1.
I think SOR 2 holds more nostalgia value than anything else. I would even venture to say that it’s a tad overrated? Then again, beat em ups tend to get on the repetitive side fairly quickly for me, so…eh… shrug
I do value FF 3 a bit more for trying to give a bit of variety what with the supers and branching paths.
Lol, I’m like the complete opposite. I liked it more and more as I progressed and got better at the mechanics.
I know this probably sounds weird, but as a Balrog main in SF4, I actually enjoyed vanilla the most myself, and the Sagat match in vanilla was one of my favorite matchups. A lot of it had to do with the challenge of having to get in and how much concentration and what not it took to do it when facing a competent Sagat. There was a local Sagat (Eric Kim) who I played quite a bit locally and I don’t think I ever beat him one match ever but I learned so much playing that dude and how to approach that match. I just found the challenge of it so fun.
shameless achievement ho here… I picked up 550 points today on my new/alt profile…it was delicious…
sidenote—Toy Soldiers: War Chest is apparently broken, and there is no hope in it ever being fixed. After tutorial I get to a loading with a lot of character art, and that’s it. There is no button prompt or even a progress bar of loading, and it just stays that way forever.
I don’t think anyone has any issues with these posts.
My one suggestion though: use Hide Details for the posts about this. The images can destroy browsers and makes the thread kind of a dredge to get through.
Other than that, keep it up. It’s cool stuff. I’ve always been fascinated by arcade tech but never really had the capacity to learn it.
I totally forgot about Asuras Blade.
With Toy Soldiers— I have a suspicion that the contract they had on the licensed content expired at some point, actually… the big selling point here was that it included characters like He-Man, Cobra Commander and Duke… for some reason it works from what I hear if you go offline and set the date to 8/1/15…
I also gave up all hope because in searching this online, I’ve seen the same complaints posted years ago. Check the reviews and commentary

a shame… I had fun with it the first time around for a while back when it was new.
hahaha, I just tried Phantasy Star Universe simply because it would be some easy achievements for my new profile (it was one of the easiest games to “100%” back then…basically you get 100 for each boss if I recall…there’s nothing else so simply beating that game = 1000/1000)… and of course that shit doesn’t work…of course it’s not one of the backward-compatible games…shouldn’t have been a surprise.
damnnnn I tried “Sneak King” (YEP I still have that shit! ) and it didn’t work
of the peeps here who played death stranding, whats your opinion?
cuz before the game came out. i thought the problem with the game was gonna be its far out crazy as fuck story. but it seems the story part is its benefit.
what everyone seems to be complaining about, is its gameplay.
mostly, its UPS THE GAME.
that you do a whole lotta walking. a whole lotta walking just delivering packages and nothing much to do.
which sounds tedious and boring.
walking simulator seems about right then
The bulk of the game play is delivering cargo, but I’ve seen plenty of combat be it against humans or BTs (the ghost things) and tbh I’ve personally found even the delivery aspect of the game pretty fun be it in finding safer routes, fighting against the weather, building basic structures or tools to help traverse or just blazing through areas on the motorbike.
I definitely see how this game isn’t for everyone and on a description or maybe even a video alone I don’t think I’d been keen to play it either but playing it first hand I’ve found myself just lost in the game not noticing the multiple hours just fly by. I honestly have not found it boring at all yet.
Unfortunately for us there’s still plenty of saiyans to add. Kefla, Turles, Future Gohan, Raditz, Majin Vegeta, just to name a few
One complaint I keep seeing from Gears fans that just hits me as odd… the flashbang grenades… I keep thinking—It’s SUPPOSED to be some annoying shit. A stun grenade’s purpose is to disorient the hell out of the targets while the squad moves in…what, they think it should just be a minor nuisance that is shrugged off in exactly 1 second? C’mon now, bruh…
…and of course, since companies cave in to stuff so often…naturally they’ve apparently toned it down from what I hear.
Walking simulators don’t tend to have actual game mechanics so I don’t think that’s an accurate description.
