…What? What are you trying to say with this? I don’t understand. I mean if I’m reading this right one could just as easily argue “Reducing someone’s health bar to zero in Street Fighter lol how many times you have to do that? The game gets pretty lame after that point on.” Like…what? Winning is lame? Fighting to the win condition is lame? What’s this trying to say exactly? The amount of times you have to do it is dependant on modes and stock counts and potentially how large the tournament is if that’s a factor for both game types…Smash or SF.
I was mainly replying to this post and this bolded and gave some of my reasons as to why people who play traditional fighters don’t like Smash. I don’t need to attempt to make Smash into a fighting game because I think the actual community does enough of that already homie-g:
Which I mainly talked about the stage out aspect and how silly it is to me. I talked about being ALMOST knocked out of a stage aspect too, then using your mobility moves to get back. Again, another thing which is silly to me as a traditional fightang gaem player. I don’t find the gameplay fun and like I said before, no amount of fan service and custom music is going to change that.
I think the game being lumped in with other, actual traditional fighters in and out of the tournament scene is a problem and causes a lot of hate too.
I feel like Smash is better when playing at home with your buddies over some beers.
Bruvs check out these pants I just found in Grim Dawn. I think I just sold @Million-X on the game. It has pad support too(which I kind of want to try, since it’s a rare thing to have in these types of games on PC.)
The description+skill these Mythical Soiled Trousers give me is next-level shit.
Well your problem is you keep coming at it from the perspective of a traditional fighting game player when it’s not a fighting game…at all. I only pointed out Stamina Mode because it fixes your complaint about ring out reliance. Not to turn Smash into a fighter.
Stop looking at it as a fighting game. Its not a fighting game, its a party game some spergs take too seriously. You’re sabotaging yourself. Im a traditional fighting game player who enjoys Smash just fine.
The community of Smash is the source of my disdain not the game itself.
That’s a relatively different discussion, but yea, I hate the Smash community to. They really suck.

Dead or Alive developer Team Ninja joined the fun on Twitter by noting that you can play as Mai in Dead or Alive 6 , though. The company welcomed players to “the world of adults” while dropping a link to buy Mai’s DLC.

Hating on Mai yet Smash features the overtly sexualized Bayonetta?
Yeah, makes sense…
Huh? Who was hating on Mai?
Have you seen how toned down Bayonetta is?
Blame CERO, the Japanese rating board. Sakurai didn’t say “Good boys and girls” the English voice said that instead of what he really said which that my was excluded because the CERO rating board would change the games classification from CERO A to CERO B. That’s why Bayonetta got toned down. I wonder if they tried to get Mai in with her Real Bout costume. It’s less revealing. Sure people would have bitched but at least Mai would have been in the game. Who knows maybe they did try and still got hit with a CERO B.
No, he DID say something almost exactly like that Darc. That wasn’t an added line or something. He said both that and the Cero part
Update: Trusted translator PushDustIn is offering a contrary explanation, saying Sakurai does literally say “good children” and that we should be mindful that there are not always 1:1 translations for things.
I am sure that the majority dont hate the game.
They just hate the travesty that the community turns it into, and that the community behind it is basically full of entitled crybabies.
Yeah I don’t think it’s most peeps hate the game itself. Look at JP players, they love smash. You got big names like momochi and abadango playing. EVO Japan already has 2000+ entrants for smash.
It would be so nice if Epic remembered Unreal and brought it back
…but sadly, they won’t.
edit–yep, it’s specifically Unreal Championship 2 that I always remember with a smile… one of my favorite games of all time, easily.
