Video Game General 6.5: Now with more surprise mechanics

While that’s mostly true, there are instant KOs once you’ve gotten enough damage done on an opponent.

There is also Stamina Mode now if that is what you want.

Instant knocking out of the stage***

OH SHIT MY HIT WASN’T ENOUGH TO FULLY KNOCK HIM OUT THE STAGE AND HE’S NOW USING HIS MOBILITY MOVE TO FLOAT BACK OVER TO THE EDGE OF THE STAGE

QUITE EXCITE

Difference being that it is not recoverable. And you can only do it after you knock your opponent around a bunch before hand, inflicting damage.

it’s just a NES rom, so you need a emulator or Flash Cart to play.

%%%%%%%%% meter being your health dictating whether or not your ass gets fully blown off the stage by specific moves or not is also silly to me.

…i know.

Could it not be argued that having a visible bar that decreases as you get blue fireballs chucked at you to determine the exact point you fall down is not just as silly?

They are both percentages. We say combos do 50% for a reason. It’s all numbers.

If you don’t want to knock someone off stage then turn on Stamina mode. Bam you have a numbered health bar and they die when it reaches Zero. You have your normal health system now.

It’s all a numbers game, you are just counting up instead of down. With counting up isn’t damage but th,e likelyhood of getting a ring out.

You know it’s a different era on SRK when people stan for Smash.

Less stanning and more your points being fixable*. shrug

Edit: Changed wrong to fixable. More what I wanted to say as your points aren’t wrong, just able to be changed/fixed, however you want to look at it.

Smash is fun as fuck. Especially when they added the Belmonts, Ken/Ryu and Terry. :triumph:

How many times do I have to disable options and jump through hoops outside the way the game was intentionally designed to be played to get it to kind of maybe just a little bit resemble a traditional fightang gaem?

I dunno, I’ve made 0 effort to ever try and make Smash into a fighting game cuz I don’t want it to be one. I have plenty of those, i prefer Smash to be Smash. You are the one who seems to want Smash to be a fighting game :man_shrugging:

For me other than story and unlockables, Smash is just one of those things I bring out to have a good time with friends. 4 of us grab some game cube controllers and have fun playing a party game. And if we dont want to do smash we also got Mario Kart.

I’m not stanning either. Just pointing out that, while mostly true about the object to ring out (like I already said) there is a damage tracker that will allow you to KO an opponent once you reach a threshold of damage inflicted against said meter. Or percent. Or whatever it is that’s tracking damage.

All of this. Random stage, random music, items on and just pure hilarity.

knocking someone out of the stage in smash lol how many fucking times you have to do that? the game gets pretty lame after that point on

Doesn’t have anything to do with stanning really. If you don’t like the game because it being ‘ring out’ centric thats perfectly fine. I get people fine the game boring to watch. Some people have odd resons for disliking Tekken 7, some hate and can’t get around super dash in dbfz and some people fell out of love with SFV after realizing the ceiling was placed too low (I’m in that group). I’m just saying the game doesn’t deserve a good chunk of the hate it gets because a good chunk of the community are being babies.
