I played a little bit of Terry on Wednesday evening, and you can definitely kill with Power Geyser/Buster Wolf off jabs. I caught more than one person slipping that night with jabs into Buster Wolf. Also ended a match with Power Geyser hitting through the god damn platform.

Terry is definitely real unga bunga on damage, especially after he gains access to those moves. The community isn’t gonna let him rock though, they’ll probably ban his ass in bracket until he gets nerfed.

Terry straight dumpstering people.

Smashers sure are cancer

Oh wow…I don’t think any of those things apply to traditional fighters. Learning a match up? The fuck is that? Just fight Zangief like he’s every other fighter and just get in his face. No difference! Microspacing? So all that walking back and forth out of characters optimal range in the neutral to hit a limb and punish never existed in anything other and smash? WHAT A FUCKING REVELATION!!

I remember going to my nearest locals around the time Ryu was released on Smash WiiU. You kinda had these two areas of the venue that were pretty much isolated from each other. It was predominantly smash players and only a small handful of actual FG players. After Ryu dropped all the smash players suddenly came into the sf4 room to learn Ryu in that game hoping that it would help them use him in smash. They easily gave up that first night and said sf4 was too hard. Which is hilarious since you can fart and do a srk easily thanks to shortcuts in sf4. None of them understood how we could play SF, mk, ki,etc and not enjoy playing smash.

wow they’re really some entitled dipshits

You know, I used to wonder why there was such a debate as to whether Smash is a fighting game. Now, with these Smashers, I see. Ya’ll are desperately trying to keep that filth out of the water, and I don’t even blame you. Jesus.

Yeah I used to stick up for those clowns. I was wrong. Fuck em.

with Diablo 4 having microtransactions, it shouldn’t really be a surprise… most game companies want things to go this way since they realized long ago that people WILL pay for those little things. From their perspective–why give away things when most customers are willing to pay for them?

Those days of things being “unlockable”, or even “transmog” stuff…for free? That’s over, sadly. If Diablo 3 were made today, I bet money there would be no such thing as the transmog vendor and options being in the game for free…no chance. From here on out, it’s all “pre-order bonus: flaming wings!” and/or “Holy Light Transmog Pack! - $1.99”.

I’m deeply saddened that most traditional FG players hate Smash because the game really doesn’t deserve it. Sakurai puts a ton of effort and love into these games whether you play it competitively or not. It’s just super shitty that a chunk of the community is so ignorant and entitled that it tarnishes the good.

I love Smash. It’s the people who play it that are the problem.

Good point.

I can see a MvC 2 Player easily destroying Smash players.

If it played more like a traditional fighter I’d probably be into it. As it is the goal is to knock people out of a stage. That is lame af compared to…knocking someone out.

Imagine how shitty Soul Calibur/VF etc would be if the only way you could win was via ring-out. That’s how I see Smash Fros. Then you have people taking out “items” in an attempt to make it more “competitive” and it’s all silly to me. You can have all the fan service and remixed music you want, but it doesn’t get me hype to play a glorified game of ring-out.

Because Smash isn’t and never was a fighting game.
Smash is a party game platformer, it’s a game you bring out on some kid’s birthday or when you are with the bros and getting Drunk, ect.

The big publishers are definitely taking notice of how much money games like Fortnite, Warframe and PoE bring in. All three of those games make more money being F2P games with MTX than they ever would have been being full priced games with a bit of DLC+MTX. Your average kid who gets their parents to buy them MTX in Fortnite(my twin nephews lul) spend way, way more money on MTX than they would have paying 60 bucks upfront.

If D4 keeps it purely cosmetic and its MTX, while having cool looking in-game items and transmog I won’t mind. If they have P2W stuff in there then that will suck, especially for things like inventory space/stash tabs.

Unrelated news, someone developing a new NES title

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nesgame/project-blue
Project already meet all their funding goals and they are just now wrapping up

They even have a demo Rom setup, so I take it they are almost finished and they are just doing KS to help fund the final development and Cart manufacturing.
