This is fucking great and basically encompasses the smash players mindset.
They want to lay claim to smash being legit fighting game but want nothing to do with actual fighting games. They don’t want to learn the moves, the characters, the history, none of it.
The best part is the traditional inputs are 100% optional
Also, Ryu and Ken suck in Ultimate. Ryu sucked in Sm4sh too. We also don’t know how good Terry is yet. Cause he’s only been out you know…a day

Woah homie, Ryu and Ken definitely do not suck. Like at all.
Day 1 Terry is busted as fuck and is easily top tier with no nerfs.
It’s not even like the inputs are strict either. You can mash them shits out with little effort. Like fucking try man.

We talking in general or in smash? Cause I’ve never heard of them making waves in smash. Ken sorta did when the game first came out but nothing worth mentioning.
Haven’t heard a peep about Ryu.
Ken is my favorite SF character, homie.
Smash. They got hella buffed.
Both are definitely mid high tierwise. Probably be higher if they were easier to use and they’re recovery isn’t the best.
Ken is basically Ryu but better. Ken has better combo options and buttons. His Shoryken kills much earlier than Ryu’s.

Ryu and Ken are solid in the game and both of them hit like a truck. Prob not as many of them around just due to them playing closer to traditional FG characters and people like that guy above who don’t want to put the tiniest bit of effort of learning an actual command to get the best damage output for the character. Terry having unlimited super specials after 100% is huge for people who actually put the time to lab him. Jab, jab confirm into buster wolf killing just about anyone 75% and up? Better fucking kill his ass and keep him off the stage before it gets to that point.

Also rising tackle and burning knuckle have full on invincibility if you do the real motions. Terry gets to play unga bunga as fuck and blow your buttons/projectiles for free.
He shits out way more damage than Ryu/ken. Oh and if your at 60% or higher he can kill you with power geyser or buster wolf…which he can combo into.

Also, they’re are probably some salty old school Terry players since even Sakurai things High Angle Geyser ain’t shit anymore.

Power geyser is busted in smash. Up-tilt > power geyser is a true combo that kills starting as low as 60% for light characters.
