Lol @ Mai not making it as a guest character
Manā¦as much as we make fun of smash and belittle it. The amount of love and detail they put into the characters is fucking insane.
I also really appreciate Sakurai breaking down the history of the AoF/FF/KOF as well as the history of arcade and old school console struggles.
I know itās because the majority of smashers have never played an actual fighting game. Sakurai basically acknowledges such in a very round about way but itās still really nice regardless. It shows he really cares about that characters source material.
His reasoning for the lack of Mai is really funny.
Edit: Also when he was talking about the other guest characters ages and said āman, everyoneās getting oldā I felt that in my fucking soul. Lol
Bayo is laughing at Mai.
Smash is a great game, hands down. Iāve got no issues at all with it, but the people that surround it are usually what I take issue with. Competitive smash just seems to attract a type of person (there are of course exceptions) thatās kinda shitty. And stinky. probably because of all the shitā¦
Also, Sakurai is pure and good and they donāt acknowledge how good they got it
Well Fatal Fury is arguably the reason Smash exists so itās no surprise Sakurai went all out for Terry.
Smash was never made for or intended to be for the Smash community, it was intended for just about everyone else Except for the Smashers. The casuals who want a occasional friendly game to the Hard-core fans and afficnatos of the properties that are with in.
Just watched the Terry video. Damnā¦might Buy the dlc.
Not even talking about just Terry. Iām talking about every none Nintendo IP character thatās in smash.
They painstakingly make sure the characters transition from source material to the world of Smash is as accurate as possible.
I may think that Smash is hot garbage but I really do appreciate and respect a great deal the love, care and effort they put into their guest characters.
Manā¦Smash isnāt hot garbageā¦not even close. Shits a lot of fun when you just fucking play it as intended.
I have a weird love hate relationship with smash. I love the idea of it. I love how it looks. I love all the characters in it. I always love seeing a new one being revealed.
But once I actually play it I get a Reminder thatās equivalent to a punch in the face that I hate almost everything about it from a gameplay stand point.
I get like a weird Alzheimerās with smash. Lol
Yeah. But the ways most of my friends want to play arenāt fun. So I donāt
Free for all, random stage with friends is pure hilarity.
Also online doubles is fun as hell.
And the thing that bugs me the most is that the pro smash community snub their nose at playing the game in any manner that isnāt theirs. Would be great if there was a āas intendedā tourney branch for those who want to play it closer to that, but they just canāt stand to see that.
Items. All day, erry day.
Smash is a game I donāt like casually or competitively lol.
I dunno, playing the intended way just ends up pissing me off and I have no interest in the competitive side.
I know most people here donāt particularly care about amiibo. But Richter is up for preorder on Best Buy. He comes out 1/17.

Simon drops next Friday. He is still up for preorder.
Also on the boat as that Smash gives stupid amount of respect to the roster and guest characters. Might need to spring for the DLC for sure.
Ono talks about why an MKxSF collaboration never happened despite Midway and later Netherrealm have reached out throughout the years hoping for one to happen.
Ono basically says āItās never been the right time for us to do a collaboration with someone or the people in charge of the fighting game division at that moment in time felt like the universes meshing together wouldnāt make senseā
He also mentions that āThough weāve said no to them in the past it doesnāt mean weāll so no in the future. We are known for doing collaborationsā
Old news but if youāre into figure collecting you might check out Angry Joeās miniature board game. The game itself I couldnāt care less about but the figures are pretty high quality (above amiibo) and they are pretty cheap if you take into consideration how many you are getting. The problem is itās $280 to get them all ($80 and $140 packs are available) and there is no way to buy them individually. I really want the Sakura and Crimson Viper one but thatās too much money. I remember hearing about it a year ago but didnāt realize how good the figures looked until he put out a video a few weeks ago.
