Too bad Honeland 3 is right now tied to Gearbox.
Whatâs Honeland 3? You mean Borderlands right?
I think he means Homeworld 3. Gearbox got the IP some time ago.
You would expect Nintendo would have commissioned them to do another game, but I have guessed for a while Nintendo while ok with some RPGs in their catalog are not so invested in the genre they would continue to support two Mario RPG franchises. I just figured they would focus on Mario and Luigi over Paper Mario but I guess Nintendo really didnât like the performance of those 3DS remakes or they stumbled on making a HD project that wasnât announced.
The 3ds remakes not selling well if that was the case isnât at the fault of Alpha DreamâŠthe Switch is suffocating that system right now. If they had released those remakes on the Switch it would be an entirely dif story. Could have put and still port those games to the Switch eshop and sell them for 30 bucks if they were inclinced. Or put them both on a physical cartridge for 60. I hope Nintendo does something cauae theyâve been pretty loyal to them so just letting them die off after putting in quality work would be disappointing.
Superstar Saga ReMaster sold well.
Browsers inside story did not though. Most people thought a port of a DS game for a system that can play DS games was a waste of money. I personally enjoyed the remaster a shit. But that complaint is also absolutely valid and I agree with it to an extent.
I agree though. They need to just put the whole series on the eshop.
Though Partners in Time and Dream Team might be difficult to port over given most of the core mechanics are dual screen based.
True bankruptcy doesnât mean dead in the world of business, Nintendo or another entity still could buy them out and take their debt or maybe a loan.
Fucking hell it really sucks that Gearbox is controlled by such a shit human being known as Randy Pitchford
And they say ânot all CEOs are bad!â
Iâve yet to see that in the gaming industry
Iwata-san who was regarded by many to be one of the most compassionate, innovative, hands on and level headed CEOâs ever. Gaming or otherwise. The amount of respect he garnered as Nintendoâs CEO is almost unparalleled.
Reggie who brought Nintendo back from the brink of being dubbed a âkids consoleâ and always interacted with the Nintendo community in a way no other CEO has. Nintendo or otherwise.
Shawn Layden. I donât know much about him but Iâve never heard anything bad about him. He helped make some of the current and past generations most genre defining games and learned how to innovate current genres.
Phil Spencer. He doesnât seem like a bad dude. He genuinely seems to want the best for Xbox and the gaming community as a whole (which the latter Xbox fans shit on him for because lolconsolewars) but M$ wonât hand over the keys to the castle.
Some impressions of Overwatch on Switch are outâŠIâm kind of enticed to play this with the gyro despite the 30fps
I like the feature set thought for control customization that went into it. Nice job Blizzard.
Nintendoâs Satoru IwataâŠwe did not deserve him.

i like those. Maybe Nintendo will acquire them
Clearly havenât been looking very hard lol.
Do you even like story heavy games? I have the impression youâre more into the systems side of things
Uhhh probably not, lmao. Generally I tune out stories. Whatâs an example of a story heavy game anyway?
Canât really recall the last time I cared about a story. Witcher 3, Ni no kuni 1âŠyeah canât think of anything recent. I guess God if War was ok story wise? Definitely zoned out and just wanted to hit stuff, body the Valkyries and do the challenges.
I doubt youâd care about TLOU at all then if you havenât already tried it. And I just mean any game where the story is a main selling point and a big development focus basically.
I figured by the way people were talking about the actual gameplay mechanics. Iâll probably just delete it and try Code Vein lmao.
I havenât played TLOU since it launched on PS3, but I remember it started out very slow. Like the first 2-3 hours it was pretty damn boring and I was contemplating if I should continue. But then it really picked up and sucked me in big time. If I remember correctly, it was around the part where you are like climbing up some run down building or something.
Uncharted games have become tiresome to me. They are just more of the same. Itâs kind of like what happened with Halo games to me. They were cool at first but then it was just âmehâ because not much changed, and it was just given the Forza treatment. Same stuff just looks prettier. I do like the characters and story telling in Uncharted though. I couldnât pull myself to finish part 4 though, and I was on like chapter 18 I think.
Sorry, Dev right. I meant to say Homeworld 3.
Itâs a 3D Space RTS (as in you move in 3 dimensions instead of a 2D plane like most RTS games).
Yeah, Iwata is the kind of CEO that takes time out of his already busy day, and help program and code games after hours. He wrote a custom on the fly compression algorithm to make Pokemon Gold and Silver Happen, fix the bugs in the US and European versions of Dragon Quest 1 (aka Dragon Warrior), and found time to mentor alot of beginning programers in Nintendo.
Reggie is one of the rare gaming CEOs that has gaming Cred, I think he showed off the number of hours he played on several 3DS games he played. he didnât just preach, he followed the gospel. He believed and stood by his product and it showed. Hell the shit Reggie did prior to Nintendo for Pizza Hut was just as Amazing.
Shawn Layden is one of those guys you hardly hear about as he a behinds the scenes type person.
He was with Sony long before Sony considered video games. He probably with a non-gaming branch of Sony now. He not really a gamer per say, but what he did is amazing, he is a communicator and facilitator, he looked at the big picture and look what needed to happen. He has some gaming cred as he did host a few Sony E3 conferences, he was a big force to push backwards compatibility in Sony PlayStation products as he understood what it means to the his customers.
Phil Spencer inherited a fucking Dumpster Fire when he took over the gaming Division, and managed to salvage what he can. He convince Satya Nadella MS CEO to not to give into the board of directors and keep the Xbox Alive, which that board was looking to kill XB since day one of the OG console. Although I think alot of Spencers decisions are FUCKING STUPID, canceling alot of of projects that leads to some awesome console exclusives and trying to approach the awful âGaming as a Serviceâ model .
