I don’t think he’s a hack. I think he’s one of many old school developers that made better games with limited hardware. He seems to more concentrated on making movies than games. An honestly I found his storytelling to be poor, but to each his own.
Because being involved in the game as a player isn’t the same as watching a series. Isn’t that obvious?
Overwatch 2 is because Activision is flexing their muscle and want another sequel to market instead of updates.
There’s no point for him to make movies anymore games are better than movies nowadays , he can tell alot of more things in games than in a movie of 3 hours. I get alot of people don’t get his shit, it’s not for everyone.
Yeah, but if you make games, you HAVE to ask whether your game is fun to play at some point. It seems like a lot of people are saying no with DS, and part of that is because he went for story/message over gameplay.
That is, unless I’m misreading the internet (which I often do). But even people who praise the game are quick to say it’s not for everyone and the gameplay can seem tedious.
It doesn’t seem like a lot no, some might be saying that but there are plenty that seem to like it
The latter part is true, that it’s probably not for everyone but that’s the same with tons of games. We should know that being on a fighting game website. The best selling FGs almost always have a ton of single player content, MOST people aren’t into the pure competition aspect.
There’s the other side too of people that like games that have literally no combat at all like Must and other adventure games. It’s not like those games aren’t games just because they don’t have real time combat.
Even here Million doesn’t like turn based JRPGs at all, but we have people that do like them.
There’s always going to be an audience for just about anything you can make, so there will always be some people that aren’t into it.
That alone doesn’t mean they shouldn’t make what the want to make or that they did it wrong or that it’s made badly.
Even if the main gameplay is just traversal, and is very atmosphere focused it just makes it a game for people into that. Like, yeah, of course Eskills wouldn’t be into the game, it isn’t focused on combat or execution intensity or difficulty. But it doesn’t have to be because a game doesn’t have to focus on those things if they don’t want to.
It doesn’t make either style of game lesser than another. It’s one thing to criticize actual identifiable issues or to discuss design choices however of course
As kid I did alot of that being from a small town surrounded by mountains my friends and I used to take long walks getting lost in the woods, we walked miles and miles sometimes arriving in another town, lol if the game can recreate it I’m all for it.
That’s why you make a series… 12 eps 1 hr each.
Y7 getting a demo. No date for said demo announced.

Rick and Morty parody Death Stranding
DYKG on Kojima
Kojima been making narrative focused games for close to 30 years. This is a guy who spent years making point and click adventure games like Snatcher and Policenauts, both of which have almost no combat in them at all. This isn’t even close to a first for him, nor is it a case of a developer making better games with less tech because he was making games like Death Stranding in 80’s.
Who here is going to get Terry in Smash ?
I got the fighter pass so… I shall play… for a couple of hours.
Been playing fight n rage a lot more since getting it. So much depth to the game, doesn’t get stale like most brawlers tend to. At this point it’s no stretch to call this the best brawler I’ve played. And my earlier complaint (having to complete in one sitting)in had acttually already been addressed, the game just doesn’t make it clear (start arcade move with the same character you stopped with and you’ll get the option to resume).
i still don’t know what to think of death stranding but long cutscenes was never an issue for me ive played xenosaga games metal gear cutscene length has nothing on those games. ep 2 is 20 hours long about 4 of those hours are gameplay.
You could take power naps playing these games.
I know you mentioned MGS too but I feel that only applies to 4. Though I never played 5. It’s the only MGS I haven’t played.
Well, I mean I would prefer her with hair… but still would hit that.
D4 is an uncompromised vision of Diablo. This is the kind of stuff that Path of Exile is doing, that Torchlight is doing."
Already have it, I got the seasons pass
5 is light on cutscenes. A little too light actually. It’s missing the last 4th of it’s story basically…
Why’d they bring that bitch back!
