Video Game General 6.4: New Halo? What else?

The Punisher is another one I never played. Cadillacs and Dinosaurs would have been GREAT.

I certainly know people who spend hours upon hours of blood sweat and tears making costumes for characters they hate due to their ethnicity.

Probably because Marvel said “no”.

And HF is great. A lot of players consider it the purest SF experience since it doesn’t have meter.

I get why. It’s just upsetting. And I’ve never liked hyper fighting but Capcom constantly pushes it. They could have made room for something else I guess. Iunno. The line up is just super disappointing to me

Just because you don’t like HF doesn’t mean it’s a bad choice, or that there isn’t a sizeable scene for it. Now New Challengers, that would have been a terrible choice.

OG Darkstalkers is also a terrible choice.

Most of the others aren’t too bad (ProGear fuck yeah). The issue is that there should be more.

Didn’t say it was bad. I just feel it’s a bad choice. I know there’s a scene for it.

Agreed. Both games aged horribly.

Never even heard of pro gear.

Yeah. A lot more.

Some supposed SNK leaks.

Rimururu, Basara, and a new character are DLC for SamSho 7.

Garou 2 is supposedly coming (which isn’t much of a surprise since Oda wants it, and every new game they’re supposedly working on is someone in the staff’s passion project - SamSho 7 is Kuroki’s)

Progear is a really good shmup. It’s actually developed by Cave even though it’s a Capcom published game, so it doesn’t feel very “capcom-y”

There’s a boss in Sekiro that farts on you and hurls deadly dookies at you which can cause poison.

…

@Million-X You’d love this game man.

All these years waiting for a home port of Progear and it’s attached to a 260 dollar plug and play slits wrists

That’s how I feel about AvP and cyber Bots.
Iirc AvP was released on the Jaguar? and cyber bots never saw a release outside of Japan until PS3 launched its short lived “import” section.
But I don’t honestly count either of those.

Wrong AVP

Yeah the Jaguar got one of those FPS-versions of AvP… I never had much interest in those. The arcade game was the real deal for me.

More amusing Anthem shit----soooo…BioWare has posted some job openings apparently…ahahahaha seems kinda late for that, bruh

By this time next year, I’d bet this game won’t even exist anymore.

*ah…another random, quick insight on things with this game… they don’t even have masterwork or legendary versions of certain items (support gear), folks. Yeah, the loot pool is indeed that goddamn small and disappointing. Imagine that in any other loot-centric game…like if Diablo 3 had legendary items for most things…EXCEPT boots…you could only get blue boots…not even rare…just blue-tier boots. Y’know, at a certain point you start to wonder not just if they ever made something like this before… I wonder if these people have even played a loot-focused game before.

This seems like the kind of results if someone like my Dad randomly decided to make a looter shooter one day (and purposely avoided doing any kind of research on other similar games in the genre)… my Dad being a person who has not played any video games in the past 25 years. (last thing he played was a basketball game on the Saturn) It is out of touch to the point of being comical.

Was surprised Capcom could get the license of AVP somehow…

That was probably the case, or something close to it.

From the Kotaku article: How Bioware’s Anthem Went Wrong.

A few people who worked on the game said that trying to make comparisons to Destiny would elicit negative reactions from studio leadership. “We were told quite definitively, ‘This isn’t Destiny ,’” said one developer. “But it kind of is. What you’re describing is beginning to go into that realm. They didn’t want to make those correlations, but at the same time, when you’re talking about fire teams, and going off and doing raids together, about gun combat, spells, things like that, well there’s a lot of elements there that correlate, that cross over.”

Because leadership didn’t want to discuss Destiny , that developer added, they found it hard to learn from what Bungie’s loot shooter did well. “We need to be looking at games like Destiny because they’re the market leaders,” the developer said. “They’re the guys who have been doing these things best. We should absolutely be looking at how they’re doing things.” As an example, the developer brought up the unique feel of Destiny ’s large variety of guns, something that Anthem seemed to be lacking, in large part because it was being built by a bunch of people who had mostly made RPGs. “We really didn’t have the design skill to be able to do that,” they said. “There just wasn’t the knowledge base to be able to develop that kind of diversity.”

Neither do Championship Edition or New Challengers, but at least they are fun to play.

Mr. Popo is one of the best characters in DragonBall…

I’ll admit CE can be fun even if it is a 2 character game, and Bison has blockstring infinites on top of redizzy infinites. But NC?
