The thing to remember is that this “Capcom redemption arc” still has them mostly focusing on their top 3 or 4 selling franchises. DMC5 is probably the only exception.
It’s not forget the excellent Bionic Commando Rearmed. The reboot game was trash but the remake was great. I wish they kept it going.

People sucked SNK dick for KOF13 after selling people a beta with KoF12. I didn’t think Capcom fell off like most but they hit five home runs in a row with their recent releases.

For me Capcom IS fighting games.
So while I’m glad for those other games/franchises, it means nothing without a GREAT SF game.
Esp when the red headed step child of fighters is drumming up more excitement this decade than them.

Sure, if FGs are all you really care about, I understand. I think to most people Capcom used to mean quality action games though, and while the Inafune era was a dark age for them, since he’s been gone Capcom(aside from SF) has at least begun come back to what people felt they were in the past.
Ono wasnt the “problem” with SF gameplay, he isnt the battle director. But then again, I enjoyed SF4 & SF5.
However, I do recognize they need to shake shit up to bring fans back tho if theyre gonna make SF6. They should take notes from Netherrealms when it comes to fighters

I dont hate capcom and I dont like them either. I’m just not gonna be a sucker and say they’re great again because they put out 5 good games (2 of which I think are lame anyhow). Dont get upset because I aint lovin’ up on capcom now or congratulating them for getting chumps to buy their crap for 11 years and putting out 3 games that I like after that time.
