Video Game General 6.4: New Halo? What else?

Gotta hide from Freiza’s army.

What did I say. Lol.

His move set and movements look really really cool. He genuinely looks like a fun character to play. Which likely means he won’t be good. Lol

Hit was translated dope, prolly not good tier wise tho. Lol

He looks like he has a ton of stuff. Could be another GT Goku situation, could be another 17. We’ll see lol.

Hit was really good when the game first launched tho, wasn’t he? Just due to patches and dlc characters he didn’t exactly become “bad”. Just other characters simply got better.

True that.
It just felt like Dudley from SF4 all over!!

Cool character, cool gameplay but sorta bottom mid tier to low tier.

I’m attempting watch top 8 for dbfz and I still have the same opinion I did last year: it desperately needs more defensive options. Something as simple as advanced guard/push block would change the meta for the game in a huge and positive way, imo.

Also hearing UltraDavid sucks. I’ve never liked his commentary. Tasty Steve though is great.

They need to add Toppo & Ribrianne in too, you’d think they wouldve been in by now

They could put it on Switch and see if it’ll sell. Capcom’s “tests” always fail when it comes to the Switch and their titles (excluding MM11) end up selling well.

They should give those games another shot…on the Switch.

Hit was never a top tier character or anything in most people’s lists. In the early days around launch a lot of characters were admittedly exaggerated because no one had a grasp on how to play the game optimally yet. Hit, Black, Cell, Teen Gohan to name a few. Characters that lack decent tools to lay down pressure and mix are usually thrown farther down the list.

The game got a lot of defensive options with the last patch, like being able to spark out of block and making guard cancel invincible for the entire animation. I’d say most of the guys that play this game a lot agree by now that something like push block would not work as well here as it does in a game like Marvel. It was intentionally omitted as a design choice.

Though, that’s not to say I don’t think the game could use a bit more defensive options. I do, but I certainly don’t want push block.

I just don’t like watching 30 seconds of block strings. Shit is boring.

Not the game for you then.

nah, he has a point. the game needs something like a pushblock. it does get too crazy with corner pressure sometimes.

That’s fine. Outside of majors I don’t even really pay attention to the FGC anymore. For various reasons I don’t really play fighters anymore. I still pay attention to certain games and certain players but yeah. It’s just a game I don’t really find interesting.

I’m not saying anyone who dislikes it or plays it is wrong. Just looking at it from the surface and begrudgingly as a spectator it’s not a game I enjoy watching.

Even at EVO last year the top 8 for dbfz was fun but it wasn’t enjoyable. If that makes sense? Tasty Steve’s commentary and the crowd interaction was amazing. Hearing the entire stadium power up during the intros was fucking great. Oh, the Sonic vs GO1 “controversy” was fun too. Cause no one really knew wtf was going on. And then people booed sonic for using a rule that the tournament has. Lol
