If you don’t mind a more Advance Wars type of style, you might want to check out Wargroove. I heard Banner Saga is good but I haven’t played that one.

Big shocker: Activision have patched in microtransations for Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled even though they promised they wouldn’t. If you were playing the game and wondering why the Wumpa Coin earn rate was so low (even after the adjustment patch at the end of June) and why the Pit Stop prices are so high - there you have it
Yet another example of microtransations directly influencing the game design and ingame economy balance, while apologists continue to use shit excuses like yOu dONt haVe tO bYu tHEM
Used copy it is for me, then
Just recently bought the game, too. Fucking shameful.
Of course they would. Activision always patches in MTX after the review cycle is over. Can’t have the Monetization negatively affect the metacritic score.
More like I am not buying the game at all then.
There’s Valkyria Chronicles 1 and 4 on Steam. Also Disgaea 5. You could also try Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2. DOS is a D&D game, but the battle system is turn-based.

So TL;DW
Doom 1 and 2 ports are trash (wrong aspect ratio, slower music, incorrect SFX pitch, 35fps cap, lightning issues)
Doom 3 port is excellent, except for framerate drops on Switch
Avoid the Switch version of D1 and D2 due to Bethesda.net account bullshit
I’m watching the DF vid right now and that music difference is gross.
I may avoid Bethesda entirely until they get their shit together…
Bethesda has fallen quite hard in the past year. Fallout 76 is hot garbage, Rage 2 is a disappointment, Youngblood is shit, this log on bullshit with Doom 1 & 2. Wtf happened?
EA attempts to explain why they offer Switch limited support.
They have been putting out subpar products since releasing ‘Evil Within 2’ in 2017. But I will gladly take that over their entire catalogue past and present.
I mean…they’re not exactly wrong? It’s not 100% their fault that they have to cut so much and make so many compromises to bring their titles to the switch. The Switch is barely above PS3 in terms of power. It just seems like more work for a less quality product.
My guess is the reason we even got EA games on the switch is contractual obligations.
Either way. Idc. I haven’t bought an EA titles since Mass Effect 3 and don’t plan to anytime soon.
They’ve gotten to the point EA has gotten to. People buy the games because of the IP. Not the quality of the game for that IP.
They didn’t mess with Doom Eternal…did they?!
I doubt it. That was developed by id from the ground up, just like DOOM 2016, which was excellent.
This is just speculation, though. Feel free to correct me.
I haven’t bought an EA game since ‘Dead Space 2’ in 2011. I do not even know what they produce anymore.
