As a former employee of Wal-Mart, I would not piss on Wal-Mart if it was on fire. They arenāt getting my money. I think may have spent $100 there in the last 20 years.
@Darc_requiem As a current employee of Walmart I % agree with you. But Iām going to give my money to whoever has the best deals. It isnāt Amazon or Best Buy anymore. Itās never been GameStop (outside of whenever they have B2G1 on used games) and rarely Target.
As much as I hate giving the money I earned back to my employer (even when I worked at the hobby/comic book shop I would go to a different one about an hour away for all my card game/board game/comic purchases) Walmart knocking $10-15 off MSRP + Employee discount it seems like the best choice.
Plus everytime I go to Wal-Mart, I have to spend a while flagging down someone who works in electronics to unlock the case, get a copy of the game and then have then go to the register. Which for me is like trying to heard cats. The little I would save at walmart isnt worth that kind of wait.
I literally get faster service anywhere else, I rather wait for 3 day shipping that spend the time trying to find customer service help at a Walmart.
When I lived in Blythewood, SC I literally drove past Wal-Mart to the other side of town to shop at Target.
It all depends on what time you go honestly. Most Walmartās electronics departments are āopenā from 7am to 10pm. After that you need to find an over night key holder. Which yeah, can be shitty.
They also have instore pick up now where you can order stuff thatās available at your store online and meet someone at the front of the store who has all your items you ordered. Most pick up kiosks are open from 7am-8PM. I use it constantly on my days off because I donāt want to spend time at work on my days off unless I absolutely have to.
The nearest Target, Best Buy and Game Stops are about an hour drive from my house. Thatās not worth it to me. Especially when I only live a few blocks away from work.
I gone to a Walmart at 12 noon and had to go to customer service to get someone, when I got there I was told there already a sales clerk there. I had to eventually flag down the store manager who wanted to dick around, and I finally got service talking to the district manager. They fucking gave me the run around just to pick
up a GBA game. So fuck that shit.
So youāre holding a grudge over a slight inconvenience that happened over 15 years ago? Petty much?
I usually go to Walmart for groceries and random items, but use Best Buy or Amazon mostly for games.
It is slightly annoying to get the key holder but Iāve usually not waited more than 5 minutes. Walmart in my area seems to rarely get new releases so that is more of a deterrent for games buying than customer service for me.
Coolā¦

Edit:
Evil Dead game incoming
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/bruce-campbell-confirms-a-new-evil-dead-game-that-is-currently-under-development-for-consoles-and-pc/
If Iām off the day a game I need comes out, and GS doesnāt do a 9PM launch, I will go to Walmart to get it at 12AM. If Iām going to be up that night, no reason to wait on the next day. Also I donāt trust online retailers to get me the game as early. I also work a fucking LOT, so I donāt have hours to spare that I could miss playing the game.
I only have 1:16 in Bloodstained, which I bought Saturday. I work Sun-Thurs, (any) game wonāt be played until at least Fri.
Slight inconvenience? Slight?
I should not have to go on a wild goose chase for 30 min and flag down the district manager.
Slight my ass.
That isnt the only incident ether.
I had to unplug a Xbox 360 kiosk for the electronics dept staff to pay attention as they were too busy playing Madden.
Wal-mart and everyone who works there can kick rocks for their shitty service.
Yes. A slight inconvenience. Like getting mad when a server accidentally gets your drink wrong or when it takes awhile to be seated despite how busy it is. Or wanting the line to move faster when itās obviously busy.
I doubt this happened since you pretty much have us the whole story of what happened. Also DMās donāt work the store.
Iām also doubting this as well. Like, heavily. When Walmart did have kiosks they were wired into the unit and couldnāt be unplugged.
Yea that sounds pretty slight to me. First World as fuck.
