I think you guys might be the only one who want this
Shame as it has one of the most refined presentations and gameplay systems in all of fighting games with the artist of Ruroni Kenshin and prime SNK working together.
Last Blade (2) is great, definitely one of my favorite fighting games ever. But I doubt it will ever get a sequel, as SNK themselves have said they feel the series is ācompleteā in terms of story. Canāt remember where I read that.
Also, just saying, I would not want to see Last blade resurrected in horrible 2.5D like KOFXIV, or even the new Samsho style. Can another company -please- figure out how to animate a game like Arcsys?
I think a lot of the team from LB2 went to work on Guilty Gear down the line.
A sequel to MotW is at least feasible, would love to see it.
Its enough that I sometimes wonāt start playing one when Iām thinking about it. I usually do pay for at least that long once I start, but knowing I have to play for that long in one session can be a deterrent. Either way, I very much prefer a level with individual level scoring/ranking saved.
LOL at calling Last Blade, especially 2 refined, when the games can be pretty busted.
That stage looks phenomenal
Yeah. Last Blade 2 is ridiculously busted. Likeā¦there are certain combos and set ups for characters that are banned. Lol
Random impressions time:
Worms Battlegrounds - a pretty fun little Worms game by good olā Team17, itās one of the two available on current gen systems (the other being WMD). If you have ever played a Worms game - then you already know what to expect from this title. The main difference that sets it apart from most previous entries is that Battlegrounds has a Class system (which first debuted in Revolution), so now you have a Scientist (heals entire team for 5HP every turn), Soldier (can explode grenades and other throwables on command), Heavy (slowest and biggest, all the explosions get buffs in range), and Scout (super-fast, jumps the furthest and the highest, but starts with lowest HP out of all). The classes are all customizable per team so youāre not stuck with each of one in a team of four total.
Recommended only if you want to have some challenge (Worm Ops and Campaign are present and offer some pretty tough scenarios like 2 worms vs 20), or you have buddies to coop with on the couch. The online is pretty dead (at least in EU) these days.
Transistor - very beautiful and stylized isometric strategy game. One of its biggest unique features is that you have an array of special attacks called Functions, which you collect as you go through the story and level up, and you can mix and match them however you want, provided that you have enough ability slots (MEM(ory)), so the game offers an excessive amount of flexibility for your playstyle and a solution to pretty much any encounter. The enemies are pretty varied too, and the mixes in which they are spawned in every battle also challenge your strategic knowledge.
This is where its second unique feature comes in - since the main character (whose name is Red btw, sheās a popular singer in-universe) possesses a special sword called Transistor (hence the gameās name) - she can sort of bend the reality and slow down time, so you can plan out your attacks and carry them out all at once with a press of a button. Naturally you are limited in the number of moves performed within a Turn(), but you can reduce the cooldown, increase your movement speed, reduce the move cost, or slightly extend the bar by combining the Functions I mentioned above.
Unfortunately the game is super short (it only has 3 bosses and half of the game is basically backtracking to where you start off in your playthrough), so an average full playthrough can be done in mere hours. So, to counter that - thereās New Game+ (which keeps your progress), thereās Limiters (an array of conditions that make your enemies stronger but they give you more XP in return, the maximum being +32%), and thereās Tests which you can access via special checkpoints called Backdoors (this game is heavily coding/programming inspired in general), with those Tests including Planning (how effectively can you use Turn() to kill all enemies?), Speed (how fast can you eliminate the enemies within a time limit?), Perfomance (how many waves can you survive?), Stability (how long can you stay alive?), and Agency (can you defeat your own doppelganger?)
Both games were in the PlayStation Plus lineups in past months so you might even have either or both of them in your collection just waiting to be downloaded and played, and I think they should also both be available physically on disc, at least on PS4
The burning building stage is also one of the all-time greats, from LB2.
Oh yeah it pops up from time to time on SaltyBet
Yeah i heard about LB2 being broken as fuck. I really enjoyed the gameplay at a casual level though. Same as Garou.
Obviously that hope is tempered with the understanding piss easy infinites and glitches would be gone.
They need to find a way to reproduce the animations though or at least find a way to do them justice. My god they are still beautiful.
I was referring to the original and we already had this conversation in the Samsho thread. The second game does have some interesting additions though.
Pokemon Sword and Shield producer responds to pokedex drama
Pretty much just says just because some pokemon wonāt show up in this game doesnāt mean they wonāt show up in other games.
Xenoverse 2 Ultra Pack 1 releases July 11th
Crash getting its first update July 3rd
The story for Judgment seems to pretty compelling and engaging from what Iāve been able to watch of my wife playing so far. Sheās told me some stories of things that have happened that included having to investigate a panty thief. She told me when she caught up with the guy he apparently got power from sniffing the panties in the fight and said something along the lines of āwelcome to the feast!ā. So seems this game has some WTF moments akin to Yakuza.
Only thing that really sticks out to me as kind of a negative is I wish some of the animations were more fluid specifically in regards to fighting. I also canāt say much in regars to the depth of the fighting since my wife is kind of mashy so I canāt judge it well.
Judgment is really Yakuza meets Ace Attorney with splash of Shenmue QTE when you have to chase people. Think this game has potential as a series if itās successful.
Sweet. I wanna play it but Iām probably gonna wait til itās on sale. Timing is just bad for me monetarily unfortunately, and I impulse bought Bloodstained lolā¦
Seems like SamSho is DOA?
Normally, Iām all about getting FGās that arenāt Capcom these days, and would love to support SNK, hell, KOF14 IMO was much better than Capcomās efforts the last 2 gens. But man, Iām just about tired of getting these FGās that Iām only going to get a few hours out of. I mean, I just picked up Million Arthur, aaaaaand, chances of playing matches in that? Nil.
Also, having a 1X, looks like I shouldāve bought bloodstained on that platform after watching a DF video.
Well what did you expect buying a literally unknown fighting game in the west? For that shit to have thousands of players active?
Million Arthur, I heard of that game but didnāt know it was even out. I will give Square Enix credit, they have milked that franchise from Mobile game to multi media better then anyone should have given its premise.
In North America itās only been released on PC.
