Jesus, NRS. I knew Shang Tsung would be good when he was first announced, but this is just straight up awesome. They are hitting so many good notes.
I just hope they can make Nightwolf and Sindel cool. I give not one iota of a fuck about them, and right now feel like they are a waste of DLC spots. Maybe they’ll bring me around.
holy shit I didn’t otice this until now… probably since I just glanced and “Gunvolt” is in small text I thought it was something else entirely… this is SO bought, bruh. I love that Azure Striker Gunvolt double-pack I got on Switch earlier…I still wish they’d go a little further with the graphics though; an IntiCreates game with some high-resolution 2d visuals (then it looks “pure anime” all the time; they could go all out with the art) would be incredible.
Dead Cells— ok, this time it got personal with those damn Golems. I’m on the current run specifically to hunt and kill those bastards…I have a good setup right now for handling them— I throw out the “Wolf Trap” to lock them down; no more of that devastating dash punch! I have 2 arrow weapons…so while they are locked I can shoot from a distance; one of my bows does critical hits at a distance so that is perfect for huge damage. On top of this I have my usual Cross-Bo automatic turret thing. So far I’ve been able to kill them before they can do the magical grab/teleport move to pull me over. …annnd I killed all of them in the area. heh, delicious.
edit—haha I’m feeling so overpowered at the moment…16 in survival, 7 tactics 3 brutality…
Marksman’s Bow IV++ [green]->>5045 dps
Punishment shield [green] 1953 damage
Wolf Trap [green]
Double Crossb-o-matic [purple]
edit again—yep that’s just basically a requirement then— if you don’t have any kind of weapon/item that can immobilize enemies (wolf trap or freeze bombs or freezing arrows)…you CANNOT fight those Golems effectively, and they will more than likely be the end of your run since there is no escaping them. Ha, I love that there is an enemy that tough. Oh and this is just the normal Golem…I’ve never even fought an elite version of it before.
I got a really good bow drop in Path of Exile so for fun I made a Ranger --> Deadeye in the flashback race.
I’ve made a few before, but they were ass. My damage and survivability just wasn’t there compared to my Marauder --> Juggernaut and other characters. This one though…is pretty awesome.
I’m using a skill called Tornado Shot, and it fires ~3 projectiles. I have it paired with Greater Multiple Projectiles which adds another 4 projectiles on top, so 7 total. I have a sick quiver that “causes projectiles to fork” so I queef out 7 projectiles with Tornado Shot, and then ALL of those projectiles fork in multiple directions, so it’s like 7x4 projectiles or so, and they overlap so multiple arrows can hit a single enemy or boss. That’s 28 fucking arrows on screen from 1 attack. It claps a screen and a half of monsters everytime.
My nephew started playing the PS4 version and he’s played quite a few ARPG’s over the years and he’s loving this one.
Nephew: “Yeah, I have Flame Dash paired with Summon Phantasm on Kill so when I Flame Dash and it kills monsters it spawns a bunch of Phantasms.”
Me: “Yeah man, that’s why this game is awesome. Funky-ass combinations like that.”
My poor PS2…thing only plays games when it’s in the mood to. Half the time just gives me disc read errors on everything…i should really take it in for calibration I guess.
MK. I think Shang Tsung may be the best thing I’ve ever seen in a FG, in context. The throwback, the ninjas, the moves, the movie refs. Holy fucking shit. DLC will be bought.
Wow the music in Gris is incredible. It amazes me when these small studios put so much love and effort into the music and sound, like the people who made Hollow Knight too, and then you have companies like Netherrealms who have such shitty sound effects in a AAA game like the MK series.
Music in games have taken a hit in the last 2 gens. There’s like maybe 10-15 tracks that are even memorable. Nobody cares about music in their games, it’s usually generic forgettable scene setting music.
Also speaking of NRS, you can’t even hear the music. Is there any?
Buy a random phat for 20-30 bucks imo. My phat has a easier time reading discs than my Slim. One game wouldn’t boot on my slim but I could hear the laser constantly trying to read the disc, whereas my phat would boot it up no problemo.
Yeah, I mostly agree with this since it has been sounding less “gamey” as a whole.
Romero’s Sigil comes with 2 soundtracks. One Midi OST and one by Buckethead. Listen to this track @ 18 seconds, it’s straight 90’s gaming mang:
