I have twitch prime but have literally never used it. Mainly cause I find the whole concept of twitch ridiculous. I’ve read from your posts though that you get free monthly games? Are they for PC or is it always different?
The free games are for PC and they do change them. Though you need Twitch’s desktop app if you to play them.
Oh.
Unfortunate.
holy shit…
I’ve never played any of the Borderlands games but they look fun.
Trover Saves the Universe is just InterDimensional Cable: The Game. Roiland voices almost every single character in that trailer (and likely the game) also I’m pretty sure I heard Ryan Elder (a producer/writer for R&M) as well as Dan Harmon.
I’m glad its not going to be just Vr. I really wanted to try it.
I might pick up Borderlands 1 Game of the Year. I want it physically though which is exclusive through GameStop. So. Maybe not.
Borderlands 1 remaster better be free on PC for those of us who own the original.
Grabbing and eShop card tomorrow when I’m out and about. Like the “Out Now” announcement they did for Alex Kidd and Gain Ground. Alex Kidd will go along nicely with Phantasy Star and Wonder Boy Dragon’s Trap!
I’ll never understand this kind of entitlement from the pc gaming community
What entitlement? It’s actually common for remasters on PC to be given for free or at deep discount for owners of the original. 2K games themselves have done this with the Bioshock remasters. I got the Darksiders 1 & 2 remasters for free for owning the original.
I’m working my booth so I missed borderlands panel
I find that ridiculous.
I don’t pay attention to polygon often, if ever. But I read this article and it nailed it.
Just more of the same boring, meta humor, bullshit. BUT GUUUUUUNNNSSS!
Yawn.
If that’s what people want though than more power to them I guess.
Pretty cool that owners of Handsome Collection get the 4k UHD remaster for free.
Why is that?
Just because you supported the game once doesn’t mean you deserve to get all the shit that comes out after. Especially when other consumers have to pay for said things. Usually at full price.
That’s like when I was on reddit and people were saying people who bought Wii U versions of a game should get the Switch port for free or at a deep discount. It’s just ridiculous to me and comes of as incredibly entitled.
Those where generous gifts, very kind of them.
Pretty sure people are question your “Better be free…” part of your post. It reeks.
This is where the PC and console market differ. The fact of the matter is, there is no point to remasters on the PC platform. A bump in resolution or graphics isn’t a major selling point because those things are naive to that version of the game. The appeal of playing an older game on a newer platform doesn’t exist. Say if the remaster actually adds something new like a bump in frame rate, glitch fixes in the like that doesn’t warrant a new purchase as those things could just be patched to the original PC game. There’s no hook.
There’s also the fact that free or discount remasters are the set precedent. The ones that try to buck the trend like Dark Souls are met with backlash as there’s nothing in the remaster that makes it worth re-buying. Thanks Namco, it took you 7 years to fix the base game. That’s not worth $40.
