Video Game General 6.4: New Halo? What else?

I probably would’ve cared more if the game had stayed in TX. You start out in Travis county and then the story moves on to wherever. Should’ve stayed in TX.

I was suuuuuper pissed about the ending. But a friend and I had like a 5 hour debate about it. Then I was like “man. That got deep. It was a good ending then.”

Game was always about a road trip. Gives you a bigger scope on the whole post apocalyptic thingy.

They were pretty shit-tier scientists that would have had less marginal success than time killing the infected. The decision made sense given that there were other guinea pigs and that after all the shit Joel went through for the Firefly bitch that cost him his best friend he got duped.

It takes about 16 hours to drive through Tx from one end all the way in the West to the other in the East.

Should’ve stayed in Tx. Already has plenty to see.

This was a trip long enough for the seasons to change…

Except the “other” guinea pigs turned out to be failures, and that Ellie was supposed to manifest “unique” symptoms that the other subjects did not have, so everything pointed towards Ellie being “the real deal”. And we all know Joel said that there were “others like her” to Ellie just to make his lie more believeable. I am really looking forward to see how all this blows in Joel’s face in the sequel. It will make for some interesting conflicts and dillemas.

Spoken like a true Texan.

Yet still no.

They were doing the scientific equivalent of a carpenter using a rock to insert a tiny nail into a wooden frame given modern medical technology.

I know some of you are okay with crowd funding games. Some aren’t. I’ve had mixed experiences.

Anyways, an R-Type sequel Kickstarter is launching next week.

Obligatory tag for my shmup boys @radiantsilvergun3 and @ReggieH

PC specs requirements for the Witcher 3

  • CPU: Intel CPU Core i5-2500K 3.3GHz / AMD CPU Phenom II X4 940.
  • RAM: 6 GB.
  • OS: 64-bit Windows 7 or 64-bit Windows 8 (8.1)
  • VIDEO CARD: Nvidia GPU GeForce GTX 660 / AMD GPU Radeon HD 7870.
  • FREE DISK SPACE: 40 GB.
  • DEDICATED VIDEO RAM: 1.5 GB.

Specs for the Nintendo Switch

  • CPU: Four ARM Cortex A57 cores (theoretical max 2GHz)
  • GPU: 256 CUDA cores (theoretical max 1GHz)
  • Architecture: Nvidia second-generation Maxwell.
  • Texture: 16 pixels/cycle.
  • Fill: 14.4 pixels/cycle.
  • Memory: 4GB.
  • Memory Bandwidth: 25.6GB/s.
  • VRAM: Shared.

Looking at it realistically, The Graphics is lacking as the Switch in docked mode is about the equivalence of a GTX 460. The ARM Cortex A57 ignoring the clock speed as that isn’t a good indicator any more of processing power, comparing the A57 to a 3rd Gen i5 isn’t clear cut.
Also available ram is an issue.

Now if we go with Witcher 1

  • CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.4 GHz or Athlon 64 +2800.
  • CPU SPEED: 2.4 GHz.
  • RAM: 1 GB.
  • OS: Windows XP/Vista.
  • VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 or ATI Radeon 9800 or better.
  • TOTAL VIDEO RAM: 128 MB.
  • PIXEL SHADER: 2.0.
  • VERTEX SHADER: 2.0.

That is Very doable

Now just another reference here is the system requirements for Skyrim (2011), which did get a Switch Port

Summary
  • Windows 7/Vista/XP PC (32 or 64 bit)
  • Processor: Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU.
  • 4 GB System RAM.
  • 6 GB free HDD space.
  • DirectX 9 compatible NVIDIA or AMD ATI video card with 1GB of RAM (Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 or higher; ATI Radeon 4890 or higher).
  • DirectX compatible sound card.

And here the Specs for Doom (2016) which also got a Switch Port

Summary
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-2400 or better / AMD FX-8320 or better.
  • OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
  • VIDEO CARD: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 (2GB) or better / AMD Radeon HD 7870 (2GB) or better.
  • FREE DISK SPACE: 45 GB.
  • DEDICATED VIDEO RAM: 2048 MB.

Good info I don’t understand any of it, but informative regardless. However, I think you meant to post this in the E3 thread?

Guess I lost track with the multiple tabs open.

Never thought Death Stranding was coming this year.

Unless something out of the blue comes out of left field, looks like Genesis Mini and Death Stranding are my purchases for the fall, and the rest of the year.

Awesome trailer!

Judgement combat trailer…

I missed the Ghostbusters in 2009. I’m definitely copping the remaster.
