The people that are gonna be shitting bricks are the online CCGs. No difference between a lootbox and a randomized card pack.
WoTC must be shitting bricks.

Damn. Didnāt even think of them. How much business do they do off of those randomized packs? I mean, surely they must sell some packs where people know what theyāre getting.
That why I think PokĆ©mon did the smartest thing when it came to their online TCG ecosystem. Any physical booster pack, starter deck, deck building kit, a themed setā¦etc you buy also comes with a redemption card you scan or type in on their website for the same cards you just bought. They also let you trade cards and unused codes online as well traditionally buy digital booster packs.
Itās a pretty fair and streamlined system.
Curious, what is āresponsibleā use of lootboxes/micros?
More now that magic:the gathering has a fancy new online ver of their game and no way do they want that new cash cow to get killed by regulations.
My only salty experience with loot boxes/RNG was plants vs Zombies 2 and Black Ops 3. Both games just had to shove into your face that to have fun you needed the items and good luck if you ever got them.
Anyone have any experience with some 3DS XL grips? Any recommendations. I love my 3DS, but it really does make my hands cramp after a bit. I need more to hold onto.
That doesnāt make sense. If my hands where too small then why would I want to make the 3DS XL larger? Its already the Extra Large versionā¦
Idk. Just the first thing it reminded me off. A common complaint about the 3DS (regardless of model) is how uncomfortable it can be if your hands are too āsmallā or too ābigā
I canāt really play my 3DS for long periods of times because Iāll get a really bad hand cramp in my left hand. But itās due to nerve damage not to uncomfortableness.
Yea mine are big, I want something meatier to hold onto.
I have the Dreamgear for mine. It definitely helps with the cramps, and allows you to fold it. The only complaints I have with it are that itās a soft rubber, and you have to kinda peel it back to insert games. Iād buy it again.
I also had a harder plastic grip for my 3DSXL bro before I got the New 3DSXL, but I forget what brand it was. I liked the overall comfort in general, but I had a difficult time reaching the shoulder buttons with that one.
Newsflash - no one is forcing you to buy anything.
@purbeast While true and I agree with you. Hearthstone is very different. There is a very competitive tournament circuit for Hearthstone. My friend use to be their Tournament organizer and one of the commentators for their major events.
If you want to stay competitive you have to buy the randomized packs and hope for the best. Which leads to blizzard getting a looooot of revenue.
I finished RAGE 2. The gunplay and graphics are FUCKING FANTASTIC but everything else is justā¦average. Itās your typical open-world stuff. Go here, kill the bandits at this camp, earn some reputation, take down a 18-wheeler while getting some more reputation, open a gate on a highway while killing all the bandits and get some more reputation, etc. etc.
You repeat these activities over and over until one of the 3 main leaders of each respective camp gives you a main mission to do. These are typically the best and most fun sections in the game. The driving mechanics are terrible too, theyāre actually worse than they were in the original.
-Awesome graphics and gunplay
-Just your average open world flair for everything else
-The game feels like it was mostly made by Avalance instead of id
7/10 overall, but the gunplay is so good I give it an 8/10. I actually liked the original more overall, the levels and setpieces were more interesting and the pacing was much better. Kind of a disappointing tbh, commercials and the like made it seem like it was going to be on some modern Mad Max on crack shiiet but it never was. Iād wait for a steep sale on this one. I might even trade it in while I can get 50$ credit for it(paid 30$ lul) followed by picking it up in the future when itās > 20 bucks.
Hah, me too. 3DS XL and the Wii U gamepad are just so awkward to hold after a while.
Lifetime of playing Nintendo handhelds/consoles and I never had this problem with them until the 3DS XL and the Wii U.
For those who donāt know what it is. The game was an unfinished fighter released in arcades back in the day. No one knows what happened behind the scenes, but the devs went back to SNK which you csn see by how sone of the NESTS era designs (e.g. Kā, Maxima) look similar to characters from the Fallen Angels.
The complete version will have some adjustments, and have the four unfinished characters that were found in the code of the original.
EDIT: Hereās what the game looks like.
I donāt know honestly in the case of lootboxes. I hate them all. Itās a shitty mechanic thatās only really there to prey on gambling whales. In the process they make shit worse for the rest of us because they have to up the grind to make the boxes attractive. But I guess if you donāt put too much cool or game-altering stuff in them, and make good, non-grindy paths to getting the stuff otherwise, theyāre not that bad. I only said some people have to be using them responsibly because there has to be some good use out there Iām not aware of.
Other micros can be used responsibly. Just charge fair prices for items, and donāt sell stuff people wouldnāt expect to be behind a paywall when playing a certain game. If itās a fighting game, donāt put special moves or modes behind a paywall. If itās a shooter, donāt put reticles behind a paywall (unless you have a shit ton available already and theyāre really cool reticles). Stuff like that.
I bought this one, makes playing way more comfortable. Still bothersome after a long session, but much improved. https://www.amazon.com/Cyber-Gadget-Rubber-Coating-Black-Nintendo/dp/B01KWUNRV6/ref=sr_1_16?keywords=3ds+xl+grip&qid=1559038593&s=gateway&sr=8-16
I donāt really like the concept of the ārandomnessā of a lootbox. If I buy an extra thing for a game, I would rather know exactly what Iām getting.
ā¦taking it way back to old-timer days for a minuteāitās like those mystery boxes or āgrab-bagsā youād see in a comic book store back when I was a kid buying comicsā¦I never saw the appeal in NOT knowing whatās in the bag I just bought.
Dead Cellsā so apparently the XB1 version is the only one that didnāt get the āRise of the Giantsā free dlc updateā¦I was wondering why the title screen was still the previous version and no new enemies were showing up or the clothing shop and all thatā¦ of course theyād be the last system. Itās apparently in the works though.
I had a really good run on the Switch version last night before going to sleepā¦ poured most of my points into the green/survival side; eventually I was at something crazy like getting 2.4% health healing from kills via the Necromancy, and 7% or so from parriesā¦and the amount of health I had in the first place was insane.
