Yeah with S-E’s recent reputation, I cannot feel hype for FF7R because we have no idea how long it will take for them to make it and THEN they have to make a decent battle system that isn’t a piece of shit. Everytime S-E makes an action game they usually fail. So they should make some hybrid action/turn based battle system instead for their RPGs or let P* work on the Action elements. Then we have the episodic releases that are pretty dog shit imo. If it’s taking this long just for Midgar then imagine the rest of the world…
From everything I’ve been reading and watching 7R’s battle system is basically built from Crisis Core’s battle system but more “modernized”
Whatever that means we have to wait see.
The battle system doesn’t seem terrible though from what we’ve seen, imo.

Crisis Core has a great battle system, that’s a great place to start and build on. I can see a ton of ways to modernize that system.

Honestly not a bad idea, and would be an easy way to generate hype for the remake.
Problem with CC narrative wise is all the sequel baiting it does for a sequel it looks like we will never get. Granted that sequel would be to Dirge of Cerberus, but even srill a lot of time spent on narrative ideas they didn’t follow through with.

I’ll take the sequel baiting over Genesis. He was an obvious creator’s pet character and feel only exists to put Gackt in a final fantasy game.
Well, yeah…when one designs a game strictly with multiplayer and literally nothing else going on in there, seems lacking to me in terms of the whole creative process, just generally speaking:
*“Eh let’s just do multiplayer” *
*“What about any story mode, set pieces and all that? Cinematics, etc.?” *
“Nah man fuck all that…just put multiplayer in and call it a day…and because it’s 100% multiplayer we can easily justify it being online-only, heh hehhhh booyah.”
To me it just seems like settling for a plain burger without even any cheese, when there was a time when we were getting full-course meals for the same price.
I just want there to be more “stuff” in the damn games…and sadly this stupid ass industry is seemingly headed in the other direction, and with plenty of annoying “online-only!” bullshit to go around all damn day since no one apparently cares about owning a copy of the shit they buy anymore.
Genesis is specifically who I am referring to guys. He’s nothing but sequel bait for a sequel they canceled and we aren’t going to get. So while CC is a great game and has a pretty good story, there are big portions where you spend a lot of time with characters you won’t be invested in because they have no pay off, like Genesis.
