sheeeeeit, Switch deserves all that success for sure.
I bought Dragon’s Dogma Dark Arisen yesterday… physical version, of course. I still haven’t even opened it because that combo of Katana Zero and Cuphead is TOO damn good right now.
heh, the memories—I remember the first time around in that game (Dogma) I modeled my “pawn” after that Bulgarian Beauty… Nina Dobrev [formerly of my elite M5 rankings of hotness, btw], and probably named it that too. I played a Wizard that went Sorcerer later if I recall. For many years I kept thinking of how great it would be if an Elder Scrolls game just shamelessly took some damn notes from this game regarding the combat and especially the magic… Skyrim’s magic is so far below what Dragon’s Dogma is doing it was just silly.
…Skyrim did have a nice “mass resurrection” necromancy kind of thing that was awesome though… I remember there was a certain “master” vampire in a cave I fought back then… there was a lot of dead bodies in an earlier room so I got the idea to use the power there to raise ALL of those people as my allies (I’m not sure that spell even has a limit on the # of bodies you can raise)…it worked and I went in there with a whole legion of dead folks to help kill that 1 master vampire (actually I remember he had 2 or 3 lesser vampires with him)…heh, so many good times with that game, despite its flaws…
I agree about the absenses. Jacqui and Takeda are a thing. Where the hell was Takeda? He is Shirai-Ryu. He should have been in the Fire Gardens. Also the play the Krypt…I unfortunately have found a few answers there.
Hands down KH3… like you need to play the mobile game to get the full story and they keep retconning shit in every installment. At least now with MK11 I believe the story will be a fresh start and not reimagining past games
Im trying to piece together what the deal is with Kronica from the random convos you guys are having and some of the endings I’ve watched. I’ll prolly have to do somwthing terrible like watch the story mode.
People’s endings make it seem like they have the power to fix fuck ups, so how could she be defeated in the first place?
The interwebs are speaking about the power dynamic between the PS5 and the Microsoft’s next console. Yet Nintendo keeps innovating and crushing the market. Technical prowess is one thing, but definitely not the most important.
Nintendo literally has a multinational coalition of fanboys who will buy every console for Mario/Zelda/X. At this point you could sell almost a million consoles on Smash alone.
Switch is super cool and all that, but let’s at least be honest about what that nintendo life is really about.
Kronica is an elder god and the mother of Shinnok. Shinnok’s defeat in the last game was straw that broke the camel’s back and she sets out to wipe Raiden out of existence, undo all the changes he made and reset the timeline. She wants universal balance and Raiden fucked it up by steering things to the side of good too much while being super salty about what happened to Shinnok.
Her goal is to reset the entire timeline. She needs a shitload of raw mystical energy in order to do that. He stole the jinsei from shaolin monks and the souls from Shang Tsung soul well to to feed her time sphere to accomplish her goal.
Still have that stupid shit where you have to input strings and specials like 2 hits in advance, also juggle windows seem way tighter like if you have a string to start a juggle, then you need to go into a different string to get more hits, super tight between the two strings.
I see your point. That fandom is built over several decades for good reason. The quality of their games and how they bring new things to the overall play pattern of a console is what made that Nintendo life.
I play UMK3 still. I am also very familiar with the way the current games play. I play them just fine, I just hate that shit about them.
Also the only dial a combo that have button presses that are before the actual attack is Liu Kang’s 7 hit. In MK3/UMK3 the hits in a dial a combo are pressed at the time of the hit, and you can actually delay hits in 3/U DAC’s.
Their games would be 10x better if you could delay hits on a string or do 2 into 1 on reaction. You have to expect the hit, I.E a scouted anti air into special, or just YOLO commit the special in an attack or string > special cancel.
I don’t see how no one’s complained enough to get them to make a change to the strings and specials. Especially when you do a jump in attack into ground string, you need like 3 buttons pressed by the time you land, or the hit upon land doesn’t connect. The jump attack into dial a combo in UMK3 doesn’t have a stupid window; it makes sense.
I mean there were a lot of reasons the Wii U failed. Bad marketing and name choice, apparently the system was hard to work with, Nintendo insisted 3rd party devs someone implement the tablet, lack of Nintendo staples like Zelda and Metroid. Etc.
I don’t regret buying my Wii U. The first party games they did make were stellar. SM3DW, Captain Toad, Tropical freeze, Mario maker, Yoshi’s wooly world just to name a few.
If I had to take a guess I bet a lot of switch titles were originally Wii U titles but since they saw the Wii U was a sinking ship they decided to shift gears.
Yeah. It’s weird people like playing games that feature beloved and timeless characters who’s games rarely have a misstep in quality.
Companies would kill for the type of multiple IP recognition Nintendo has.
