So, the update I have is this:
Doom Eternal and Wolfenstein VR are appointment only, with no external way of registering. They do have Doom Multiplayer here on the floor working on Switch however.

Been messing with the Framemeister. I fucking love it, it’s great, but I really gotta give it credit for its scanlines. I generally fucking hate generated scanlines but they look really good here. They do a fantastic job of smoothing out the look of PS2 games and all the tough to deal with interlacing they have.
That said whoever put the menu and video input buttons right next to each other on the unit is a dick lol.

Scan lines are great, and there a dozen or so reasons to use scan lines.
Mostly just personal aesthetics or nostalgia.
But Scanlines also is the fix for some visual artifacts that comes with the territory.
Yea, I usually hate generated scanlines they look terrible, but with the Frameister here it actually looks pretty nice and does clean up the image on PS2 games nicely. Turns out PS2 games are actually pretty fucking uggo when put onto a progressive HD monitor lol. The combing artifacts are just out of control. I’d take stair stepping all day any day over this awful combing lol.

Most PS2 games were never meant to render without them, since they use field rendering. You need equipment capable of deinterlacing to get the image to display without the combing artifacts without having to use scanlines.

Yea…i know. I don’t spend 300 dollars on something while doing 0 research.
Since I have a FreeMcBOOT card I made for my PS2, I’m gonna try messing around with GSM, a home brew app that actually deinterlaces the PS2 video output from the source inside the machine. Can also bump the resolution output up from the source to. That should really help the picture quality a good deal before sending it through the XRGB mini. Wont work with everything due to the field rendering but should help with the ones it does work with. Can force 480p line doubling with the games that support it so should be fun to mess with for the next couple days.
Edit: I’m just voicing my impressions and how things are going while messing with my new toy.
Radical thought. FFIX would be a better game without the ATB guage. It would be a faster game and taking advantage of its systems would be more fun with a traditional turn and speed stat system.

The Quakecon sale is still going. Is Fallout 4 worth it for $7.50? I heard it wasn’t good compared to New Vegas and that’s my favorite.
I keep forgetting Disney TsumTsum is a switch exclusive.
Also is it bad that it looks better than the last 3 Mario Parties?
New Super Lucky’s Tale seems kinda jarring from a camera perspective. Also it coming across as so many different types of platfomers is confusing. It looks like a weird hybrid of a collectathon game like Banjo, Super Mario 3D world and a traditional side scrolling platformer.
It looks fine but I want to see more.
Having played Super Mario Party with some local friends I’ll say that game is fun as hell.

On the Nintendo News Channel (a built in app on the Switch) there is a developer interview with the Astral Chain Game Director Takahisa Taura.
The main take away from it is you can pet the Beast Legion. The reason he added this feature to this specific legion is because it reminded of him of his childhood pets so in turn he became attached to Beast Legion so he added the feature to pet it.
