Even comparing 3D Mario to Psychonauts despite them being in the same genre is an insult. One is a game and the other is an art master piece. Sly Cooper’s thematic level designs and game changing unlockable abilities are also far more advanced than 3D Mario Maker: Designer Edition.
The number of dimensions does not have much bearing on the quality of a given game. That comes down to execution.
I think my favorite 3D Mario is probably Odyssey, but it’s a tough call because they are all so good. Even Sunshine, especially the levels without Fludd. But I liked Fludd too.
As for 2D Mario games I rank them:
SMB3
SMW
SMB
NSMBWii
NSMBU
NSMB
NSMB2
Doki Doki
Golden Coins
SML
I didn’t include Maker, but obviously that’s one of my favorite games ever.
Those collections could be nice depending on the price…and if they are released on the Switch. First collection has a good and an awesome Gradius game, Life Force is awesome and Twin Bee is good fun.
Man it really does just come down to pricing and platform for me.
Yeah I remember people telling me that before the reset here but I was still hesitant since I was just getting into Nintendo games for the first time since NES. It’s been long enough since I’ve been back into Nintendo games, so now I’m down to try them.
Depending on how good of a port or conversion, $20 for eight games isn’t bad depending on the games. However any more and fuck Konami with a dirty wooden spoon.
So then price is all that matters at this point…unless Konami fucks up the ports somehow, dont even see how this is possible but Konami always looking for new lows to sink to so who knows.
I’d be fine with never seeing SOTN for sale ever again.
Heh unlike you tho I actually like the game. I’m just tired of seeing it over other great CV games because people won’t stop slobbing it’s knob. Its so fucking over rated.
Also it’s original dub isn’t that special. Its funny and campy and that’s about it. It hardly defines the experience.
