CvS 2 was great, but hella boring at tournament levels, mostly degrading to blatant turtlefests.
Honestly, itās this kind of mentality though thatās part of the reason why 2D fighters these days are so rushdown centric. People complain about turtles, so devs and up making it so that the point is not to get in on your opponent and start pressing buttons and playing with frames in their face.
Which is why Iām looking forward to SamSho. Iāmma just pick Charlotte, hold down back and occasionally stab with 5B, and watch as people open themselves up by tryna press buttons in my face. Heck, itās how I got third at our last 5SP tournament.
I just fought a dick in a wheeochair in Persona 5. These designers were on some good drugs. Ive heard of the dick monster in these games before, but the wheelchair was just retarded Lol

To be honest, my fave game is 3rd Strike, and even that game gets considerably tedious at high levels, ESPECIALLY when it involves that skank Chun Li. Everyone jacks themselves off to Evo Moment # 37 but few saw what happened prior to that moment in that very same match, with Justin just poking away at Daigoās life.
I dunno how SS is gonna turn out or how the gameplay is gonna be, I do know that most recent SS games tried to break the mold with mechanics that favored more offensive gameplay but weāll just have to wait and seeā¦
SamSho isnāt going to sell nearly as well as its fan are expecting. The actual player base will likely be even smaller. Do I hope itās good? Sure. Do I think it will have a decent tournament life? Not even remotely.
SNKP just doesnāt have the presence it needs to make SamSho relevant. Or the financial backing to make it worth while to play. Itāll get this evo to shine and it may be at a few other majors but I donāt see it going beyond that.

The dick monster is a series staple like how Gombas are apart of Mario Bros or those little hard hat guys (Metatools) are apart of Megaman
5 Special, which is the most recent one that still gets a lot of competitive play (alongside 2), is still a game that emphasizes patience and footsies. One thing to note is that, the best SamShoās are the ones where everything is unsafe on block, and pressure is more about spacing and movement. This is a series after all that swings more towards ādonāt get blockedā compared to newer games where the rule tends to be ādonāt blockā.
My brother got in trouble for realizing this and pointing it out when we were kids.

I dunno, KOF XIII was hype but it was always dead online, at least for me. Heard the Steam version was a little bit more accesible, but hardly enough. And weāre talking about SNKās flagship series hereā¦

I donāt see SamSho doing very well here. Its too slow and lacking flash. They are also pretty tough and punishing.
