Dont forget Wiz. He’s to blame too, Maybe more than anyone else. He was the major catalyst that let a lot of the shit that’s going on today happen and other TO’s followed suit since EVO has been the standard bearer for fighting game events (can’t even call them tournaments now) since the Bay series.
He served the entire Fgc up on a silver platter for the sake of getting a steady paycheck from sponsors which have included Capcom.

I even remember during evo 2011 or 2012 I can’t remember which. they announced SFxT in the line-up Wiz flat out said “I don’t even want this game in the line up. It sucks. But Capcom is a sponsor and they want it highlighted. So that’s why it’s in” which was met with ire from the community. Even more so when he said the tournament would use the 2v2/4-Player format because “that is what Capcom wanted to showcase the most about the title”

I basically put my damn controller down and had like 2 health pieces left, when I could have easily gotten them back while all the animation shit happened. Then I got owned.
All you turds need to get on FightCade and start playing 3S, A2, A3, etc., etc… Fuck these newer games. Who cares if FC has a small community and the games are old. Its still loads of fun and those older games are great. Don’t always have to play whats new and popular.

Aside from using FC, this has been my argument locally forever.
That’s okay, I’ll just have free wins every time an old game pops up, unless someone who has never stopped and still plays competitively comes from out of town. Local scene is as useful as a dyke. Every game gets its 2 weeks of glory. Then status quo.
They are also super trash until all the ‘tech’ comes out for a game. Nobody can just wing it, in my time, we had to. Some people came to arcade with shit printed off, but that was as bad as it got. So I typically win the first tourney or 2. Will happen with Power Rangers, and MK11, I’m sure. If Jacqui still has keepaway spam - that’s gonna be my week one tactic. LOL.
Also, going to Japan finally in June, after losing my desire or curiosity for over a decade. But you better believe I’m going to grab some PS4 games. Any game that has energy bars on the top of the screen and characters facing each other, is getting bought.
I dont participate in FG stuff, and I refuse to waste time and money travelling to events to support games I don’t give a fuck about, but I will still sit down and learn the fuck out a game that completely doesn’t matter.
The thing is, everyone in here talking shit about the horribly stupid ass direction Wiz and co. spun the scene down re: the drain, were calling it, and them out for it, from the get go.

Been waiting my whole life for this game and now it’s real. Shenmue is one of the best games ever made in gaming history and with Shenmue 3 coming back it’s like a dream coming true. Gotta say with each new gameplay trailer this game looks better and better!

Dont get me wrong, it’s a game I’d play on XBOX 10/10 times, but I have that $50 on PSN, and BD is 30, and then of course Power Rangers is 20, perfect set to spend that 50. Also both games are only digital, so I can’t feel ripped off by not getting a physical copy.
I could still go ahead and pre-order Power Rangers. Will it be worth getting upgrade edition, or will the game be dead before DLC drops? Hmmm.
I’m in a similar spot. Have $40 on PSN, but I’m half tempted to get UNIST and let the missus have the rest of the credit for whatever game she ends up playing.

I only have a few minutes into it, but it’s not a post 09+ Cpacocmocm game so I’ll play.
I’ve finally started farming Adamantoise for rewards and gil in FFXIII. Breaking away from my usual party in favor of a dedicated Vanille (L)/Snow/Hope farm party has helped me to really internalize the subtle differences between characters that make this game as interesting as it is to play. Vanille has much more delay on her attacks than most of the other characters, and while that can be helpful for canceling if an enemy dies and you want to reset, it’s more of a hindrance in any fight where you aren’t looking to spam Death. I still think Vanille is an all right character, but there’s a pretty big gap between the top three characters in the game (Lightning, Fang, Hope) and the three below them (Vanille, Sazh, Snow).
