M$ can buy all the studios they want but without content or good exclusives it really won’t matter. They are bottom of the barrel dead last when it comes to the console market because they offer next to nothing that you can’t get from Nintendo, Sony or PC.
Sure they might be prepping for next gen but to me it just seems like too little too late.
It’s only too late in terms of this gen. Sony and Nintendo weren’t in good spots with their previous gen hardware and they are on top of the world now. Microsoft can do the same if they put in the effort.
Just finished episode 2 of DUSK. E2M5 has some of the best level design I’ve seen in any game. It blew my mind.
I’m hype for the last episode to come out which will be in a few weeks, though I think PoE’s new expack will be out by then so I won’t play it until a while afterwards. Imma see if anyone is playing Fighting EX Layer and if I can’t get any decent matches I’ll be continuing my playthrough of Bulletstorm that I started recently. Of course Duke Nukem’s World Tour mode is locked out in the maim menu. No way I’m giving Gearbox money just to unlock it though.
Everyone here talks about the system ‘wars’ in such absolutes.
The average game player doesn’t play the stuff people in here play. When you see bros buying games, what are you seeing? Madden, Ass Creed, shooter this, shooter that, R* this, R* that, Forza, Gears.
Your average player didn’t go to Sony because of those super Japanes-ey titles and exclusives, they went to Sony because MS shot themselves in the foot at the beginning of the generation. Was gonna do DRM, Costed 100 more because of kinect nobody wanted, weaker hardware, wanted always online. Most of the them still play games that are on both consoles. Most don’t look that deep, they’re not looking at oh…"Shit man, PS4 got that “Waku Waku Baku-Chan!” They are playing Madden, or Fortnite.
I bought PS4 at launch because of its potential and knowing it would have awesome exclusives. I was right. It’s the same reason I buy Nintendo products, the exclusives.
Microsoft’s lack of exclusives (especially good ones) is why I never bought an Xbox one. The fact it’s backwards compatible is cool but there are like…2 games on Xbox 360 I want to play again (Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon) and like 3 games on Xbox (Jade Empire and both Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic) that I want to play. That’s not worth a $400 system to me. Microsoft is going to have to do A LOT to bring people back over to their side when the next gen rolls around.
My drug of choice maybe JRPG games while some else prefers Destiny and yet another is about NBA 2K.
MS came into the industry with PC games and fulfilling the vacancies in the console market for PC style gaming plus left by faded N64’s multi-player genres and the dying Dreamcast’s weird indie type games. Their next platform seems to be a return to form but with some of the wisdom they picked up this gen from their own failures and most likely the early success of the Switch in front loading their first year with attractive exclusives.
Think I might be peacing out in Bloodborne. Nightmare of Mensis is on some shiiii~iiit, lol. I’m a Frenzy Dart magnet, ok. I can make it past the squid-swampthings with the beast-worm-thingie-bullshit-motherfuckers on my ass with only one squid-swampthing throwing a boulder, open the door, and use this opportunity of door opening animation to see beast-worm has an electric shield bomb (fucking lol) only to be greeted by something worse than fucking Rom ever could be…
That is the last area of the game so yeah, it’s tough. Try going to the DLC now. Well, it’ll still be tough there, but it could be a nice change of pace
Found another lamp to light so I don’t have to go through that area again. The first path looked like Ludwig is an enemy. The big African statue people hit like fucking trucks, dear lord. I was able to make it to the dog-bird area but accidently hit the dog and it woke up from feeding the bird-dogs who I was trying to take out.
It was hilarious getting to the second lamp. I just said “Fuck it” and did my run through that I do when I want to see what’s ahead, ended up taking the elevator all the to the right with Ludwig on my ass, I activate the thing then run off the elevator when it goes down, so I jump down in panic and die. Was able to run it, activate the elevator switch, get in the elevator, see a lamp then start running again to explore some more only to be met with the initial lamp where it’s the Dart Frenzy area.
Beefed up my stamina so I’m almost at 20 stamina. Next play through I’m only upgrading stamina. Feels sooooo liberating, haha.
Spend your insight so that it’s really low and frenzy will build much more slowly. Also, there’s a rune that adds big frenzy resistance, and one of the armor sets (maybe Durga’s?) has high frenzy resist.
