Video Game General 6.3: Sekiro has so many damn chickens man. Chickens Everywhere!

Speed Brawl looks sick.

It reminds me of 90s arcade games, in all the right ways, only slicker than most.

yeah I have Speed Brawl
the art style is what instantly caught my eye with that game; I love it. It’s not something that will set the world on fire but it’s fun.

Checking on some forums recently
some crazy people out there are actually playing Guacamelee with keyboard controls
I’ll never understand why any gamer would torture themselves like that. Keyboard as control for something that ISN’T fps are you serious, bruh? Insanity, get outta here  Maybe they’re just broke or being cheapskates.

Wonder when we’ll get a release date for that Yoshi game. That game looks sick.

Reminds me too much of Whoolly World which was nice to look at but not particularly interesting to play.

Whaaaaa

I loved wooly world. 100%ed it on Wii U and 3ds

Ken, huh?

I give Smash the fact that it’s content alone, makes it a worthy purchase. Hell, stages, and music remixes. I just can’t buy a Nintendo system because it’s usually only Smash, Zelda, and maybe 1 or 2 other games I’m ever interested in for the whole gen. If they get Tekken, SNK,VF, or other Sega characters and Skullo or some shit, I’ll fuckin buy it. Don’t care wood bye.

To each his own. It was a bit too slow-paced and ‘tame’ for me, for lack of a better word. Definitely charming though, same as that Kirby game on Wii.

Tropical Freeze, now that was a 2D platformer I loved.

If Yoshi’s World is as easy as Kirby games then I’m going to sell it a day after I buy it. I’m assuming it will be harder since Yoshi’s Island was no cakewalk.

Let me know.

You see, now, I thought Yoshi’s Island was a cakewalk.

A delightful, yummy cakewalk, but by no means even Doki Doki Mario levels of difficult, much less NESja Gaiden hard.

But what do I know?

I thought NES Wizards and Warriors was a first try sit down and beat it kind of autopilot run.

And Yoshi’s Island is still my #1 favorite platformer of all time.

Sunset Overdrive for pc is probably happening

The Yoshi games ain’t piss easy like the Kirby games but they still don’t provide enough challenge to make the games interesting. Secrets are in plain sight, bosses are boring, the power ups makes things even easier. The aesthetics of Wooly World carried it for me. I haven’t revisited this game after beating it.

I loved that game. Easily my favorite soundtrack from the NES era. But of course, that’s what you get from David Wise of DKC fame.

I wish we could get Kuros as a Smash character.

Also, it was easy partially because of unlimited continues, which was Rare for games of that time.

I liked Yoshi’s Island, but SMW is a better platformer. SMB3 is my favorite of all time, and DKC: Tropical Freeze is the best modern platformer in my opinion. But that’s only if you don’t count Mario Maker.

I think Yoshi’s Island, taken as a whole, is top 3 games of the era.

From a sheer technical difficulty level, there is no doubt that SMW is clearly superior.

But aesthetically, gameplaywise, and that certain je ne sais quoi known as fun?

Yoshi’s Island has it beaten, handily.

Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy, yo.

SMB3 is a fun caper (yes, pun).

I would love DK Tropical Freeze, but for its controls.

My second favorite platformer of all time is Super Mario 3D World for Wii U.

Tanooki Suit > Sly Cooper > Caper

With the implicit oblique “flight” reference therein.

I went too deep again, didn’t I?

I didn’t even know there were Yoshi games outside of Yoshi’s Island. The SNES ones is what I’m talking about as to not being too easy.

Yeah you lost me, lol. I never played the Sly Cooper games. And I don’t get the caper reference for SMB3. Unless you mean SMW?
