…I’ve been running around with 3 Estus Flasks max because I didn’t get an Ashen Estus Flask early on. I need to fix this ASAP.
Got rekt by the Abyss Knight. I then used an Ember, summoned an NPC outside the boss room(who gave me a gesture, wtf) popped a resin and then proceeded to wreck the Abyss Knight. I found nuking him as quick as possible was the way to go, take too long and a bunch of his friends will show up making the fight that much more difficult.
I made it to Rosaria’s bonfire which was really annoying to get to and I ended up buying Siegward’s armor set too. I went to get some free levels from that one NPC but Yuria was there standing next to his corpse instead. There are a lot of “quests” involved with NPC’s in this game like there was in DSII. I’m going to try to knock out as much of them as I can.
Is there anything that beats it, including Curved SwArds or is the Lothric Straight SwArd THAT damn good?
When I played last near release the Dark Sword was amazing. What are the best armor sets? I found some Black Knight Leggings early on from a lucky drop and they were a lot better than whatever default armor the Knight had.
I dunno, havent played since the DLC so i dunno what has or hasnt changed, but the Lothric Sword is/was the best of the straight swords. I’ve never liked the curved swords much so I cant really say there, personally I’ma big fan of two handing great swords and bigger. Claymore is immortal, and the Astora Greatsword is fantastic. I also really like the Executioners Greatsword, it gives FP back on hit.
Honestly the Sword Art can make or break a weapon for me more then the stats.
I never used the GreatswArds that much in the series because of how slow they are. I did use a Greatsword in DSII here and there because of how goddamn hard it hits, but even then, I hated how long it took to swing. I love Curved GreatswArds though, perfect middle ground of speed/damage I felt.
I don’t think I could rock a GreatswArd in DSIII with how fast enemies are, everything feels like it’s back to Demon’s Souls speed(which I really like, not sure why they slowed everything down with DS1 & 2.)
I rocked a Murakumo in DS1 constantly as an upgrade from the Gravelord SwArd. Rocked a Curved Great Sword in DSII as well, that one that you got from a Dragon’s Dream or some shit, the way you got it was really unique. Imma try to rock a Curved GreatswArd in DSIII eventually as well, it looks the Murakumo is in and that it does BIG DAMAGE if you have the Vitality to rock it. Imma definitely test it out alongside the Lothric SwArd.
Didnt find many of the faster enemies to be much of an issue with the slower swords, they still knock everything on their ass so yea. Only dudes i can think of off the top of my head who give me issues are those jumping ninja assholes in the Catacombs who throw knives. They can be trouble…kind of about it. Maybe the Irithyll white Knights.
^ Looks like those two swArds beat the Murakumo in raw damage. 17 weight requirement for the Exile GreatswArd though(which I have already) but GODDAMN that is a steep weight requirement. It kind of looks like that one Dragon Curved GreatswArd or whatever it was called from DSII as well. Me likey.
The Herald Curved GreatSwArd looks awesome as well, slightly less damage than the other one but way less of a weight requirement. DLC-only though which I don’t have. I’ve wanted the DSIII re-release with all of the DLC content for a while now but I’ve never stumbled across it once.
Yea I just have enough HP to tank that bullshit with my face if i need to. One knock down and they are almost guaranteed to be dead. Bosses are always in your face so they are easy to hit.
Pretty sure there is no “complete” version of DSIII. You’ll have to buy the DLC. It’s pretty good.
Trying to pursue a buddy to just getting a regular ps1 and crt monitor, because unless those games are remastered, its going to look like shit, and a waste of money unless the rose tinted glasses are strong
…the hell is this… they put only the first Twisted Metal on the PS Classic…not the superior Twisted Metal 2…which is not just superior it’s one of my favorite games of all time…
…ahhhhh get the hell on outta here with that.
Well, I mean even region wise they have made some questionable decisions.
NA/EU - Destruction Derby, Abe’s Odyssey, Cool Boarders, Rayman, Grand Theft Auto, Twisted Metal JP - Parasite Eve, Gradius Gaiden, Darius G, Armored Core, Saga Frontier, Arc the Lad (1 and 2)
Also, there is them skimping on the AC adapter and featuring the cheapest possible controller.
Honestly, besides Resident Evil: Director’s Cut and Tekken 3 there is not a single game on there that I would want to play. Fortunately, I have a PS2 with texture smoothing for the games I want to play.
I get not wanting to overload it with RPGs, plus the benefit of using first editions of current popular franchises, but some of those picks are just stupid.
I am mainly talking the first Twisted Metal instead of 2, Cool Boaders 2 (a franchise I forgot existed until today) and the PS port of Rayman (shit didn’t even debut on the system it was an Atari Jaguar title). I can only guess that some licensing issues are why they don’t have the likes of Gran Turismo and some other titles on the system and I have no idea why they didn’t try to put out one of the Everbody/Hot Shot Golf games. The whole thing feels like more misfires then one would hope.
The guys responsible for Castlevania on Netflix have another game adaptation they are working on. Announcement on nov 16th. An rumors are that its Zelda.
In addition, that’s literally the worst era as far as visually aging. Also a PS1 or 2, or even 3 (dont they ALL play PS1 games, even PS3’s without PS2 BC?) and probably all of those games for the price. And have the ability to play other PS1 games. Im just saying.
And I’ll buy Heroines if it goes on sale for like 80% off yearly Nov/Dec PSN sale. Literally Dev’s last sentence on it is why I’m pissed. All the stuff the engine seems to allow, and then the inputs. Most of my fun in FG’s anymore is coming up with combos in whatever games. The competition aspect is pretty dead to me, unless it’s an old man game tourney. No CPS2 = no go. And believe me, I’ve spent time coming up with combos for games…where I will literally be the only person to bust out combos in said random shit ass game.
Has helped in Mystery game tourneys though, LOL. But that’s fun to me, I’d rather have sick combos in a game I will NEVER fight others in, than to play some current Capcom offerings.
