What 343 Industries fail to realize unlike many other shooter games, its the local multiplayer options that made the Halo series what it is.
Having Split screen as well as Local-Lan support made Halo 2.
I seen people on the IGN page try to compare it to Uncharted not having multiplayer.
I want to say Uncharted was never known for it’s multiplayer, I could be wrong but only Uncharted 4 had multiplayer and it was awful.
Not having Split screen multiplayer in Halo is like not having split screen multiplayer in Mario Kart (yes I know the hand held versions didn’t but they have link play).
People generally call the friends over, grab a extra controller and take turns blasting the crap out of each other in Halo and having a great time.

Both 2 and 3 have multiplayer. Supposedly the multiplayer for Uncharted is fun (haven’t played it myself it’s what I’ve heard) but the singleplayer is far more notable.

In all honesty this is really an issue if you don’t look at how much time you spend enjoying something. I personally equate my dollars to money spent on a movie. Given that a movie at prime time is around 10 dollars for 1:30-2 hours of entertainment, I kind of need, at least, 9-12 hours of entertainment for a game to be worthwhile. If I spend less and put in time on it, I’m more than getting my money’s worth. So I bought Xrd at retail for the full 60. I’ve unlocked everything twice, spent time playing friends locally and playing with people online. At least twice I’ve had 3+ hours sessions locally. Time on training mode figuring things out and dicking around, and I’ve easily gotten my full 12 out of the game.
If they release another one (and hopefully improve the netcode) then I can expect that even at a full price of 40, which by my own comparison needed for it to be a worthwhile purchase, I’d need 8 hours worth of entertainment out of it.
So while I don’t desire to buy it at full retail, it is a very justifiable purchase for me. If I can get it for 15, I could far more easily surmise that my money is going to go a long way.
All in all: Meh. Don’t care either way.
Well considering that that they released that Western announcement trailer for the game like…what…2-3 years ago I believe? I’m sure the recent financial troubles they’ve been having had been putting a wrench into their plans. It was a wrench of their own doing but a wrench non the less.

Heh. You go light. I equate $1 = 1 hour of play. So if I buy a $60 game, I need to get at least 60 hours out of it (and WANT to spend that 60 hours on it) or it’s not worth it to me. $50 game = 50 hours, $40 game = 40 hours, etc. If I can get more than that it was more than worth the purchase. If I can’t get that much out of it, I should have waited for a price drop.
Pretty much the main reason I don’t watch movies. I don’t feel what I get out of them is worth the money spent on them.
