Video Game General 3.0 - You know what should come back? Pre-rendered backgrounds!

Agreed, Star Fox 64 didn’t came out till almost a year later.

N64 US launch date: September 29, 1996
Star Fox 64 US launch date: June 30, 1997

…and that changes one’s enjoyment of it how?

I can think of so many Gamecube games even off the top of my head that I would kill to have on my WiiU.

Luigi’s Mansion, Kirby Air Ride, F-Zero GX, Viewtiful Joe, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Mario Strikers, Eternal Fucking Sonata, Killer 7, Mario Sunshine…

It’s the same with the 3DS, and it’s been that way for years. That thing could easily be raking in even more dough if you could download Gameboy Advance and Super Nintendo titles to it. But again, Nintendo is allergic to money.

Jesus wept.

Sure, let’s bitch and complain about flags instead of addressing the underlying issues. Do you genuinely not recognize the ridiculousness of claiming some kind of Nintendo bias over people literally having different tastes? Can you not see how fucking inane that is? People aren’t shitting on Nintendo for not giving them the “same shit that’s on all the other consoles”, they’re shitting on them for not giving them what they want to play. That is a variable: some people love the N64, some people don’t, because of the library, you dense fuck. You’re going to get angry at people and claim they’re Anti-Nintendo because they want to play Madden, and they don’t enjoy Zelda? Jesus tapdancing christ, get a grip, you fucking loser. You need to sit your fanboy ass down, take a minute to assess why it is that the majority of posts addressed to you begin with, “Dear Po, shut the fuck up. It’s not us, it’s you”, and keep my name out of the ignorant nonsense you spew over these boards in future so people don’t mistakenly associate me with you. Thanks in advance.

Onto more important people/things: I personally loved the N64; it had some of my favorite games of that generation, and thankfully I was a high school kid with a part-time job, so I had time (because, fuck homework, right?) and money (because, fuck bills, right?) to play most of the greats across all the then-current consoles. Some N64 games off the top of my head that I’m glad I didn’t have to do without:
All the AKI wrasslin’ games (I was a huge wrestling mark),
OG Smash Bros,
GoldenEye (even though I think it’s ultimately overrated, I can’t deny the sheer numbers I put into this game in 4p split screen)
Banjo-Kazooie (I even bought Nuts and Bolts. :’( )
MK64 (A big “no shit” on any Nintendo console, I guess. Days of my life lost.)
Turok (Rage Wars mostly, for multiplayer)
Paper Mario,
Diddy Kong Racing (still my favorite kart racer, probably nostalgia talking ),
Jet Force Gemini,
1080,
Bomberman,
Ogre Battle,
Snowboard Kids (not ashamed to say I dumped hours into this unlocking everything. Loved CoolBoarders 2 on PS1 as well.),
Mario Party

They’re in no particular order, but just some that I spent significant time with. Each system usually has something that stands out to me. Even the original Xbox had Unreal Championship, Panzer Dragoon Orta, and Fuzion Frenzy (even though it wasn’t great. I bought the 360 one too. I’m a little ashamed about that one - that game was a real piece of shit.)

Sometimes I wonder if Nintendo looks at something and thinks “Nah. That would make us money TOO easily.”

Oh man, I saw someone mention Ogre Battle 64 about being a good game and I almost threw up…

Then I realized which game Ogre Battle was and what game I was thinking about… Quest 64

I couldn’t give 2 shits about being picked out as the only single adult male watching Frozen. If any piece of media is good and aligns with my interests then I’ll watch, read, or play it. Why should my enjoyment of something be completely hinged on how other people who aren’t me feel about it?

Star fox 64 was cool not as ground breaking as the first one but the game was ok.

Yeah and what the hell happened to the disk drive, I mean if you are going to make another disc add on to the system why not make the system disc based in the first place? Nintendo engineers failing hard since the start, not getting up to times still relying on old ideas is what is killing Nintendo
till this day.

Microsoft’s posting losses, Sony’s posting losses, Nintendo’s posting profits, yet Nintendo’s the one dying.

Nintendo’s just stubborn as all heck sometimes. But beat them over the head enough and they eventually get the message. Maybe.

“The next time when someone tells you that CD-ROM is the wave of the future, tell them that the future doesn’t belong to the snails”-Nintendo Power B)

The Wii U and 3DS(for a year) were the only things that lost them money.

amiibo turned that around though. HD Viewtiful Joe and K7 w/ Game Pad support would be all sorts of awesome!.. but Nintendo fans and 3rd party support.

Stop being dumb. Nintendo’s line-up is too predictable, and that works against them.

You say that now, but imagine being by your self one mid week summer matinee, you happen to be off and you go mid day as the theater isn’t crowded.
And some Summer Day camp starts rolling in. And every camp consular and chauffeur starts eye balling you as if you are on the Sex offender list.

Half of the titles you guys are trying to argue with were the kind of titles I tried to avoid.

And you guys can’t get mad for me saying this stuff as its the exact same thing half of you pick LordWilliam1234 for.

…that kinda proves his point.

You guys poke fun at me for liking MLP. That doesn’t make me enjoy it any less.

That logic ended up hurting Nintendo. Despite the N64 was more powerful in having more polygons on screen and better resolution than the PS1, the PS1 had better textures, sound and video.
CDs have more memory and are cheaper to produce than game carts. Game carts (like the ones the N64 had) are more durable and could include their own upgrade parts.
Publishers like Square ended up leaving Nintendo as they felt the PS1 was far more capable.

That mentality is fucking pathetic Darsakul.

And this surprises you? The list would be identical to a PS4 BC wishlist aside from Reach, Gears and L4D2, but nobody gives a fuck what they put on PSNow

I thought frozen was a family movie is it not?

People do really seem to have a problem with that, it’s like when I was reading some comments on youtube while I was watching some toonami kill la kill videos. People saying they like the series but feeling insecure because of the nudity and the main protagonist looking under age, they were fine with the violence and blood though.

Feeling guilty for some cartoons getting naked has always come off as retarded to me. Must be that white rapist in all of you trying to come out, it’s like you all fear one day the seal will brake open if one keeps on watching that kind of stuff.

Grow up children

There are a few on that list who have really good single player aspects. Those are reasonable games to want back. On the other hand, every single COD on that list, Left 4 Dead 2, and Halo Reach have damn near nonexistent multiplayer bases. Gears of War 3 I still play online quite a bit, and on any given day there are about 10,000 people playing it in public lobbies, give or take. In a game where a maximum player count is 10 players, that population is more than enough to keep playing people you havent met. The universal panning of Judgement probably helped.

Seriously though. Those Modern Warfare games? You can start matchmaking, get into a lobby, leave eventually to find a new one, and it will put you back in the same lobby. So you leave again, it puts you back there AGAIN. Wash rinse repeat, and it will keep putting you in that same fucking lobby because the matchmaking has absolutely nowhere else to put you unless you switch to a different playlist.

Halo Reach didnt last long, and was mostly abandoned when 4 came out. People decided they disliked 4, and everybody went back to 3 instead.

I dont think those games are what people want. I think those games are what a vocal minority want. Which is square and fair I guess, the people that vote decide the winner, and those who didnt vote have no right to complain. I just think that for all intents and purposes, most of that list is confusing for the previously stated observations. I dont understand why mostly dead games are the most requested amongst a pretty broad library of games.

on Nintendo

Whoever said they won’t grow up hit the nail right on the head. It’s not so much the factor of them not making m rated games or using dated hardware. It’s the insistence on taking what is peripheral or extra curricular and focusing on it at the expense of the necessary. Party chat is necessary, stable online, necessary, access to multiplat triple A releases, necessary. It’s like that immature girl you talk to and she keeps coming back at you with “that’s original” like no one like your “original” ass she’s gonna be sitting at home crying about not having a man while your basic chick is getting wined dined and piped down in prime time. Why is that? In this case the basic chick (Sony, and MS) knows how to please listen and cater to our ego’s. Now don’t get me wrong I like things that stand out that’s why I grabbed a Wii U first this gen but behind all that originality it couldn’t cater to my basic needs as has been the case with every Nintendo console I’ve owned since the 64.

No those are the games people want man, best to get the crowdpleasing best selling mouthbreather stuff out of the way so they won’t be around when the voting gets down the XBLA arcade stuff and FGs, which is what I want.
Reach they might as well just add to Master Chief Collection as a continued, ongoing apology from 343i, like they did with ODST.
