Not true, you can wall jump into that area early.
Guess it helps that I played Fusion first.
Even without the Hi-Jump Boots, you can’t even get in there without Super Missiles…
I think the first time I took out Kraid was without the Boots… When I finally did get them, I was all like, “Well FUCK. This would have made all that wall jumping a LOT easier…”
I killed Kraid w/o boots.
If you get in there without the high jump boots then you are doing the game out of sequence which was my point.
Kraid seemed way too easy. What item was “required” exactly?
The High Jump boots are “required” to enter Kraids lair. After that you just need Super Missile I think. Regular ones wont hurt him if I remember correctly.
There’s an exploit where if you get 3 Super Missiles in his mouth right at the start of the fight he dies instantly.
But Kraids not hard. Only actually hard bosses in Super Metroid imo are Granfaloon and Ridley.
Spore Spawn boss is a joke lol.
Regular missiles seemed to work just fine as long as I shot them into his mouth when he roars.
Well there you go then, all you “need” are the High Jump Boots. The wall jump invalidates a few upgrade items in the game if you know how to do it well enough.
Regular missiles into his mouth work, just takes longer.
You can also force him to open his mouth earlier if you pop him in the eyes with a Missile or Charge Shot.
Ridley and Phantoon, not Granfaloon-(I hate how the first image search brings up more Pony shit than the actual character) are the toughest bosses in the game.
Draygon is tedious as hell if you don’t know the secret to ending him quickly.
Hahaha I just got done with SOTN not too long ago, Granfaloon just came out instead of Phantoon. Oh well.
Draygon can be tedious…but still not very hard imo.
Phantoon isn’t hard if you pay attention. Ridley you either need to outlast or perfect his pattern.
Oh, and since Po decided to not listen to any of the other Superman NES music here are some.
Phantoon can instant kill you if you’re unlucky.
If anything it’s the fact he’s so damn random that fucks people up.
Phantoon’s gonna make me hate this game isn’t it.

No the chance of being insta-killed is extremely narrow (Never happened to me and I’ve only seen it happen once) his patterns are just RNG based. Yea I know you hate RNG but it’s just his patterns. He can be really random, but just pay attention and you’ll be fine.
