Of course he is. Batman has been committed to Arkham a few times. He also has a failsafe in his mind that makes him believe he’s a Batman from another planet should he be overwhelmed by psychological trauma.
Then he ain’t shit. Joker does shit to get to him. He kills people to put him over the edge. Killing Joker saves lives, but he doesn’t trust himself enough to do so?
He doesn’t trust himself to do so because he shouldn’t. For some people, killing one sadistic son of a bitch is easy to stop at. There is a potential slippery slope just because there are a BUNCH of fucked up criminals in Gotham who have killed people so there’s a decision if you need to kill them too but if nothing else, people won’t go militant just because they killed the Joker. Batman is a fucked up man, if he kills anyone he has the potential to kill everyone.
He always gives shit to the Justice League about how they’re potential dangers to the world if they go rogue and how he’ll stop them if they cross a line but Batman is the biggest danger to the world.
This is why the world needs more Dick Grayson, aka Batman without the psychological trauma.
Eh, TBH the problem with Joker (and all of his rogues) is not Batman’s fault imo, is the justice system on gotham. They know that he is a socipath who enjoys killing people and yet they have not sentenced him to death.
Getting mad at Batman for not killing the Joker is the same as getting mad at a police for arresting a killer instead of killing him. Is not Batman’s job to apply justice, he is not a judge, a juror and an executioner.
And being objective, is a problem with the writers for keep relying on the same characters over and over instead of progressing the story. It is why i barely bother with comics.
Are all the Arkham City side missions involving the other villains…disappointing? I mean, they’re fun diversions, but…I dunno. I guess I was expecting more than busting containers or racing across the city to answer phones. Feel more like extra Riddler challenges than anything. They’re not bad but I guess I thought there’d be more to it (or maybe there is once said side mission is completed).
Speaking of Riddler I do like the added puzzles to acquire some of these Riddler trophies, that was a neat addition.
